On the drive back home, the music was blasting through my speakers. I smiled and turned it up louder. My windows were rolled down and I finally found one thing I liked about California; the weather.
When I finally made it home, I rushed through the door and slammed it hard. "I GOT A JOB." My voice echoed all around me. I heard shuffling in the other room and a head popped out from the kitchen.
"Took you long enough," my mom chuckled.
I stuck my tongue out at her and bounded upstairs. All of my boxes were staring at me, almost mocking me. I rolled my eyes and opened the first one. It was filled with picture frames and memories of my past life. I needed a new start, a new beginning.
This new life was going to be different. No more complaining, no more whining. Just fun, work, and classes. The next time I would pack boxes, they will be filled with smiling faces, and sun burnt cheeks.
I set up all of the pictures and padded to my closet. The only workout clothes I owned were a pair of yoga pants, and a pink dri-fit tank top. I huffed and set them on my bed. If I was going to be working at The Gym, I needed a whole variety of gym clothes.
After three hours of Netflix and Chinese for dinner, it was my bedtime. I needed an early night if I was expected to wake up at 7:00 AM.

By the time my alarm sounded, I was already dressed and showered. I could hardly sleep all night, thinking about work and school. The only sleep I got was filled with nervous dreams.
I curled my hair into light waves, and threw it up while heading down the stairs. My parents were already up making coffee. Every time I got a job, the first day consisted of them fixing me up, and making sure I got a big breakfast. Like I said, I have always been sheltered.
"Good morning, Sunshine!" My dad yelled.
"Dad it is 7:00 in the morning. Please calm down." I whined. I pursed my lips when I remembered I was done whining. "I mean, How are you?"
He looked at me funny, before returning his usual grin on his face. "Very excited about your first day." I rolled my eyes and took the mug of coffee he had in his hands. The liquid burned my throat on the way down, but I finished it all with a smile.
Right as I was heading to the door, my mom came beaming out of her room with a camera in her hands. "Okay get in for a picture!" She yelled.
My dad was already out of his apron and squeezed me to his side. He pinched my fat and whispered for me to smile.
I put on my biggest grin and waited as the flash blinded me. Two more pictures and I was in my car speeding to work.
When I got to The Gym, there was a huge rush of people flowing in. I made a dash to the door and looked at the time; 7:30 right on time. I smiled to myself and walked over to Sebastian's office.
"Good Morning Mr.King." I smiled as I yanked open his glass doors.
"How are you Cassie?"
"I'm good, ready for my first day." I chuckled
He smiled while walking over and patted me on the shoulder, "So are we. Go head over to Nikki and she will help you out."
I nodded and made my way to Nikki. Her blonde braid was around her shoulder, and she was tugging on it. The boy in front of her was leaning over the counter clearly enjoying the easy game Nikki was giving him.
I inched closer to them and tapped Nikki on the shoulder, "Sorry to interrupt but Sebastian told me to come and help you out." I looked to the boy, his eyes were raking down my body. When his eyes finally met mine, he winked. I scoffed and put my attention back to Nikki.
