As well drove back to the house, no one spoke to me in the car. They already knew not to because I was upset and my sadness could soon turn to anger if anyone said the wrong thing. You see, when it comes to emotions me and my dad where exactly the same. Pulling up the house, I smiled a little and looked at the guys "Okay, so I've decided, we're having a party tonight. So invite everyone we know, Cesar you can even bring your little girlfriend if you want." I added. I remembered her vaguely but I never liked her. I'm a few years older than Cesar but a few years younger than Oscar. It's so weird but me and Cesar have always been close, pretty much like brother and Sister. I really did care for him and I always know when I don't get a good feeling off someone. "I would but she's only back tomorrow from summer camp." He said with a little sigh.
"What a shame," I uttered sarcastically.
"Guessing you still don't like her?"
"Nope. I always liked Jamal because he's funny." I smiled slightly "Oh yeah and Ruby too. His Abuela is hilarious." I got out of the car, Cesar getting out with me. Oscar looked at me for approval to get out of the car and I nodded so him and his guy got out. His guy walked off though, clearly ringing someone. I just couldn't wait for this party. I needed to take my mind off the prison visit so badly. I think if I was alone tonight I'd probably break down and I can't be doing that when I've not been here for long. You would have thought I would be jet lagged but I'm really not. It will catch up on me eventually though.
We walked into the house and I went straight upstairs to my bedroom. I needed something to wear tonight and all my clothes are in my bags so it's really stressful. I really do need to unpack but I'll do that another time. I grabbed the first bag of clothes I could find and rummaged through it, finding a red lace body suit and some black leather trousers. They would actually go nice together and that's what everyone seems to be wearing these days so I'll just wear that.

The party's been going on for about an hour and I really am enjoying myself. Most of the people I grew up with are here which really had made me feel like I'm home. Like I know I'm home but it's not felt like it yet, especially with dad still being locked up. CAPRICE STOP. I need to get my dad out of my head for just one day. It really gets me down and tonight's about having fun, not being sad. The sadness was this morning.
As I walked up to the drinks table Oscar approached me "Damn Jackson, looking fly tonight." He remarked, taking a drink from his red cup.
"Diaz you've been trying for years and you still don't get the hint. You ain't my type boo." I winked playfully.
"You know you're gonna be my wife one day."
"Pfttt in your dreams,"
"You know it's true," Me and Oscar could never be a thing. He knew this. What would my dad say? He'd flip. Plus if things went bad it would cause arguments and fights all because of two young people thinking they're in love.
"It's not Spooky," I had to emphasise his nickname, I've always hated it "I still don't get why they call you that. You ain't scary fool."
"You know for a fact when I'm angry I'm scary," he grinned seeming almost proud of himself
"Nahhhhh," clearly I was lying. I've seen him mad and it is kinda scary but I'm used to it. Just as he was about to say something else, one of the Santo's members came running over
"Come quick, Raheem's outside." He said panting. Without any hesitation me and Oscar ran outside. This boy has some nerve. There he was, stood outside of his car with his son Latrelle next to him. Of course Latrelle was with him. I hated that boy so much. When we were younger we used to be friends but then as soon as he got to 13, he changed. Started hanging with his daddy's stupid gang, the saints. "So I heard the princess was back and I just wanted to say welcome home."
I spat at the ground and looked at him "This ain't your turf. Turn around and go home." I didn't want the fighting and the violence. Not tonight.
"Did you see your papi today? How's he doing? Prison life treating him good?" He laughed and so did all of his other little cronies. I could feel myself getting mad. He was the reason my dads locked up and he showed up here. On my turf, not happening.
"You have 5 seconds to go or this ain't gonna end well." They where outnumbered by a lot so surely they wouldn't wanna start shit now. As I thought, they all got back into their cars and began to drive off "See you soon princess," he shouted as he exited the street....Tears pricked my eyes. I couldn't let anyone see me cry so I quickly stormed off upstairs into my room. The party carried on downstairs but right now I didn't want to party. I just wanted to cry and break shit. As soon as I got to my bedroom, I threw my lamp across the room. Fuck Raheem. Fuck his son. And fuck his stupid gang. How was I supposed to feel good when this guy was just rolling up onto our turf like that. I swear to god imma kill him myself one day if my dad doesn't get out of prison when he's supposed to. Just as I picked up something else to throw I heard a knock at the door "It's me." Oscar said opening the door slightly, letting himself in. Rude. I dropped the item in my hand and quickly wiped away my tears.
"You're supposed to wait for me to say come in,"
"You wouldn't have let me in though," he said locking the door behind him
"Yeah because I'm mad."
"So? I've seen you mad plenty of times plus I have to watch out for you,"
"I'm fine."
"You're not though."
"I am,"
"Don't lie."
"Fine I'm not. I'm not fine because of that dick. I miss my dad and I just want Raheem dead." The tears started streaming down my face. Before I could even say another word, his arms where wrapped round me and he just held me close. Not saying anything but just rubbing my back. Oscar was such a nice guy behind closed doors. He actually cared about people. "Oscar I just want life to be somewhat normal,"
"Your life will never be normal but that's what makes it worth it,"
"You think?"
"Oh I know,"
