Chapter 19

It all happened so fast, the room getting too hot, me telling Rose I needed some alone time and air before pushing past the doctor and running out. A winter storm began to fall as I ran through the woods. Panic trying to take over but having an anxiety attack was not my best bet. I pushed myself up against a tree, catching my breath. It felt like my lungs were on fire, my knees weak. Pregnant, I couldn't be, it had only been one time. But one time is sometimes all it takes. Kenai can't know, he can't. What about Charlie and their baby? I doubled over and threw up again. I was on all fours, shaking and crying. Crying so hard no noise came out but it felt like my heart would implode. I pushed myself up, my ears picking up voices. I quietly sprinted behind a rock.

"Kahl I did what you wanted, I led you here now leave her alone, leave their pack alone. You wanted Kenai! Why involve them" a voice snapped, it was Kaden. A growl responded and I sunk down lower. They were here. I could hear heavy footsteps run in the opposite direction, I came up from the rock. Kaden looked at me, eyes wide. "Leilani- i" he started.
"You lied, you led them here, I'm gonna scream, I'm going to warn them you're here!" I yelled.
"Don't! You'll alert the hellhounds, I don't want to be in this, I want to help save you" he said and I shook me head.
"I should kill you where you stand" I said and a scent picked up in the wind. His head snapped in the direction of my pack. "Kenai, he's here" I said and we took off running toward the pack.
We came to the clearing, all of my old pick were outside, our alpha facing Kenai.

Charlie stood next to him, she looked thin. Pale and her eyes sunken. She looked like a skeleton with a protruding disfigured belly. The pack doctor stood next to the alpha. Kenai's pack stood behind him. I crept behind our pack and stood behind both the alpha and doctor. Their height hiding me and Kaden. I sent him a glare. "Where the fuck is she?! I can smell her" Kenai roared.
"Kenai, relax, your Luna is-" alpha was cut off.
"I'm his new Luna! Me and our son are his family" Charlie screeched.
"Your baby doesn't even have a heartbeat" the pack doctor snapped and she roared at him.
"Give her to me" Kenai said lowly. "If you don't give her to me, I'll kill you all, I want what's mine" he snapped. I set a soft hand on Alpha'a shoulder, I gave him a nod and the doctor and him moved away towards the back. Kenai's eyes widened.
"Get the fuck out of here Kenai, leave. Take your whore and get away from my pack" I said. He was glaring at Kaden. "Eyes on me Kenai, Kaden has nothing to do with this" I snapped and he turned to me. His wolf surfacing, his eyes going dark. "Tell her who you are Kaden" Kenai commanded in an alpha tone. "Oh Kenai, don't give me the shadow prince command. My my if you're the prince, then I guess that makes me king" Kaden's voice changed.
The voice I heard back at Kenai's pack. The voice from the dark, threatening me. "Kahl" I whispered. Without even turning around, Kahl wrapped his arm around me, a silver blade burning into my throat. "Nobody move, i swear I'll kill her!" He roared. Kenai tensed, his fists and jaw clenched.

"Should we tell your mate your little secret?" He whispered into my ear. "You disgust me" I spat. "I asked you a question sweetheart" he said lowly. "Don't you dare" I growled. "So we shouldn't tell your mate that you're pregnant with a baby girl that has a gene and a strong heartbeat?" He said loudly. Kenai froze, Charlie's moth dropped open. Kahl roared in pain, a silver dagger protruded out of his arm. In a second, he loosened his grip. I threw my head back, breaking his nose. He yelled out and let go. Rose grabbed my arm and ripped me from him. Kahl laughed and turned to me, "Sweetheart, stand with me, think hard, I'm the one in power here. This cowardly alpha sat outside your window after I turned him, he'd sit and watch you and cry. Then he'd bury his sadness in another woman from a bar. Be my queen and I'd be yours forever" he said, holding out a hand to me. "I've treated you better than he has, and remember I have the pack surrounded" he said lowly. His eyes flashing red. "These people did nothing to you, my pack did nothing to you" I snapped. "I'll give you three days, three days to think it over" he said and I glared at him. A huge hellhound bounded up behind him, it's jaws dripping with bloody drool. "Fine" I said and he smiled. "I want reassurance that you will still be here" he said and snapped his fingers. Another hellhound came home behind and grabbed Rose. She screamed and thrashed as the hellhound took off. "No!" I cried out. I turned back to him, "If you do anything to her, I'll rip your spine out of your ass" I spat with an icy tone. "I promise baby" he winked "but I want to make it clear I'll kill you're whole pack" he said right as the hellhound turned and impaled my Alpha. A scream tore through my throat as I ran towards him. Kahl smiled and disappeared into the woods.

My eyes watered, the pack doctor was frantically trying to stop the bleeding. Tears flowed down my cheeks, "Alpha, I promise you'll be okay, I promise I'll fix everything, I'm sorry I-" I sputtered. "Leilani...it's not your fault..this pack needs a strong leader like you.. you..you have n-nothing to be sorry about" he choked, blood spilled out the corner of his mouth. The pack doctor looked and me shook his head. "If I had any kids, I would want them to be like you, I'm handing this pack to you" he said, his eyes rolled back and his body went limp.

Rage filled my soul, my body shook with anger. I stood turning to Kenai. "Get out Kenai, fucking leave" I said lowly. "Get out before I kill you".
