Violet James was your typical girl. She got decent grades, loves to read, has an unhealthy coffee obsession, oh and she's pansexual. She also has an affinity for abandoned places and the paranormal. Most people at her school thought she was pretty weird. Except for her two best friends: Daichi and Ebony.
Daichi was a foreign exchange student from Japan. He's been going to their school since freshman year. Violet helped him with English and he taught her some Japanese.
Ebony had been her best friend since 4th grade. One of the bullies in their grade had took Ebony's juice box and pushed her down. She started crying. Violet saw her in tears and handed her her own juice box instead. They had been best friends ever since.Ebonybby🍄:
Yo Vi, can you pick me up for school?Me:
Sure, Daichi needed a ride too. See ya in 10.Ebony and Daichi lived 5 minutes from one another so it wasn't a problem. She loved driving her friends around anyway.
Lacing up her doc martens, she grabbed her keys and backpack. Giving herself one last look in the mirror, she fixed her septum ring and smoothed down her black hair. "Bye mom!" She called as she walked out the door.
She walked up to her pride and joy. A green '67 fastback mustang that had been her dad's. She tapped the hood and got in. She made it to Daichi's house first.
"Daichan!" She called when she seen him open his front door. His dark hair was touching his shoulders.
"おはようございます!" (good morning), he replied back with a smile.
"Ready for school?" She beamed up at him as settled into the front seat.
He nodded, "are you picking up Ebony too?"
"Yep," she replied, popping the "p".
When they got to Ebony's house she was waiting on her front steps. She looked so cool. Her blonde curls complimented her dark skin. Her little floral dress nearly flew up from the wind.
"Hey dudes," she smiled. She jumped in the back seat.
"Let's go," Violet said as she took off.School was normal for the most part. Until SHE walked in. Violet and Bethany had been sworn enemies for years. Though neither of them actually knew why. Ebony thought it was petty and stupid. But she took up for Violet as a best friend should.
"Look what the cat dragged in," Bethany smirked at her friends.
Violet just rolled her eyes.
"Better than looking like you," Ebony said pointedly back at Bethany. Ebony and Violet bumped knuckles.
"Watch it, I could ruin both of you," Bethany squinted her eyes at the both of them.
"Ms. Reynolds, take your seat please," Ms. Abbot rolled her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose. She also couldn't stand Bethany. Not many people could. She was a spoiled rich kid who got her way most of the time.
"Okay everyone, I hope you read the first part of Hamlet like I assigned," she started.
Most of the class groaned in distaste for Shakespeare. Violet sat up straighter. She loved English and the classics. Though she was more interested in Sylvia Plath and Emily Dickinson. She liked most kind of literature. She liked expanding her reading material. She wanted to explore more POC authors as well.
Just then a knock at the door distracted Ms. Abbot from continuing. She crossed the room to open the door.
Violet's breath caught in her throat. They were gorgeous.
"Hi, are you the new student?" Ms. Abbot asked.
They nodded.
"What's your name?"
"Casey Ridgewood," they responded. Their voice was slightly deep and raspy. VERY HOT, Violet thought to herself.
"Okay Casey, you can take a seat beside Violet," said Ms. Abbot.
Considering the only available seat was next to me, it wasn't hard to figure out.
Casey was beautiful. Though Violet couldn't figure out their gender, which wasn't a problem to her. Casey was really androgynous. Broad shouldered, slim waist, the cutest plaid skirt, paired with a black hoodie and combat books. Their nails were painted bright red. They had wavy dark hair just pasted their shoulders.
"Ew, what IS that?" Violet heard Bethany mutter loud enough for most of their classmates around them to hear, including Casey. A few people snickered.
"Why don't you mind your own business, Bethany," Violet responded between closed teeth.
"Back to Shakespeare guys," Ms. Abbot interrupted.
Though Violet managed to see the smile graze Casey's lips.
"Thanks Violet," they whispered loud enough for only her to hear. Violet's cheeks surely were red but tried to hide it.Heyy dudes. I'm not sure where I'm going with this story exactly, though I have a general direction. Hope you guys like the characters so far. 😊💌🧸
