Prologue

Flashback

"Y/N why did you bring me here?" He asked confused.
A creese of blush spreads onto Y/N's cheeks and opens a gap between her lips.

Breathe

"I-I have something to tell you!"

"Cool! I have something to tell you two, you know you can rely on me. I'm your best friend!" He puts his hand ontop of his as comfort wearing a big goofy smile.

Y/N's body doesn't move but she can feel a weave of warmth flood in her body. The warmth reaches her face, she can feel the heat hit her smooth cheeks and her ears. Her eyes wide with clear visible blush she looks down at their hands, ontop of each ot
her.
Her stomach fills with bubbles and butterflies.

His face drops just a little and his eyes gave the worried look away.

"Y/N... Are you okay? Your not sick are you?" He puts his free hand on her forehead.
Y/N quickly looks to the side. "N-no I'm not sick! Why don't you go first? Y-you were gonna tell m-me something." She nervously laughs.

He puts a finger on his chin trying to remember what he was gonna say.
"I know! I was in the Park when a boy was getting bullied by two girls. He looked so scared so I went up to him and helped him. Then I managed to scare away the girls. We are friends now!" The boy said with his eye closed smile. He used to smile like that.
He opens his eyes. "I told you mine. Now tell me yours"

She blinked a few times then turned completely red.
She grasped her skirt and looked down. She tried to think of what to say.

Just say it

She closes her eyes not meeting his curious face. She inhales.

Now

"I like you!" Y/N blurts out. Feeling a mixture between relief and nervous. What is he gonna say?
She keeps her eyes closed waiting for his voice to speak but instead comes dead silence.

He said nothing

She opens her eyes slowly and raises her head to see his gaze. But it doesn't connect. Instead he looks down with wide eyes. She hears him sigh.

Oh no

She loosen her grip on her skirt and look at him. He removed his hand of hers and backed away an inch.
He hesitantly slowly stand up and while clenching his fists.
"You... like me? I thought we were going to be best friends forever." He says with disappoint.
This only upset Y/N. He didn't accept her confession?
She has to say something.

She slowly opens her mouth to say something but gets interrupted by his continuing speak.
She can't believe her ears. This isn't happening. No..

"I don't like you that way and I thought you felt the same as me. I like someone else and it's not you as I already said. I like Yui" that steirn voice echo's in Y/N head.

I like someone else.
It's not you.
I like Yui.

She froze, hearing those words felt like being stabbed in the heart. She didn't want to end their friendship like this.
He looked to the side and turned around.

"I'm sorry Y/N but things won't stay the same anymore, not after this. It's best if we both move on.." He started walking away while Y/N started sobbing.

Y/N's sob became louder and louder until she cried her eyes out. She was left alone. By her first best friend.

Kids shouldn't have those feelings at such a young age huh?
