Ever after

Part 1. The vow

I opened my eyes and found myself lying down in a rather familiar room. The red wall colour reminded me of my bestfriend's room. The One Direction posters pasted all over the room rang a bell. I'm definitely in Carmen's room. She's their number one die-hard fan to the extend that she even has their posters pasted in her bathroom. I began wondering how I actually ended up in her bed. Recalling my last memory,I was standing by the roadside crying my eyes out over the mess I created. That was when i heard the door suddenly creaked slowly. I sat up in a shock. That's when I saw the messy red haired.

"Carmen! Stop it! I can see you trying to camouflage yourself behind your white door," I giggled. She must be the only girl I knew who thought hiding behind the door while spying on someone was a great idea. She walked slowly towards me with a huge grin plastered on her tanned face.

"I thought you were still sound asleep," she said as she sat next to me.

"I woke up a while ago. What time is it now babe?" I asked as I pulled the blanket off me. It was getting way too hot with the blanket on me.

She grinned,"It's 10 am". She shoved her alarm clock to my face. " You must have been so dead beat that you don't even realized you had fallen asleep by the roadside." A frown appeared on her face.

"What happened Sarah? Did you managed to tell your mom about the baby?" She asked as she pulled back a piece of my astray hair to the back of my ear.

I bit my lips thinking if I should tell her of what happened between mom and me. I fiddled my fingers nervously as I looked at her with sadness weighing over my head.

"I will have to move on without her. She must have been pissed off when she saw me at the door with my huge tummy. What a great way to greet her,huh?" I smiled hoping Carmen wouldn't catch my sadness along with it.

She must have sensed my sadness because she pulled me for a big huge hug and said," You're always welcome here. I'm not going to let you walk in this path alone. After all,my parents has already know about the baby and accepted you as part of the family."

I broke down in tears. Who would have thought me, the rich girl who had everything to her name except for her dad's love as he was busy chasing girls half his age and her mom's attention as she was busy working to build up her empire would be down to nothing to her name except for her unborn baby in her.

Emotions got over me and I couldn't stop the tears from falling down. I kept thinking what should and would do in my current situation. My head hurts so bad. Was it because I'm over thinking? Was it because I couldn't manage my emotions? So many questions yet I had no answers to any of it.

"You know, babe.. I would love to continue this but.." I looked at Carmen blankly. "My shirt is now all wet and full of your boogies." "WHAT??!!!" I laughed hard.

For that moment, I forgotten what my problems were. That's Carmen. She loves cheering me up and despite all my problems, never once she doubted or judged me or my mistakes. She was an example of a strong girl. No one would ever knew what she felt being an orphan growing up in orphanage yet that didn't bring her down. Ironic isnt it?

The sound of my stomach grumbling stopped us from laughing any further. "You, my lady needs to eat. My little niece is hungry and she wants food, " Carmen smiled pointing to my huge tummy. I smiled.

I couldn't have managed to keep my pregnancy under wraps if it wasn't for her and her parents. Not only they sheltered,feed me but they showered me with lots love and care. Something I didn't feel back at home. Maybe that was what lacking in so many ways. Carmen is truly fortunate to be able to get such a loving foster parents. From that moment on, I vow to love,cherish and hold my baby's hand throughout my entire life.

I would not allow her to feel the pain I felt.

Never.
