How the hell did I end up sleeping with Max's best friend?

Beep, Beep, Beep.

Ugh...
What is that?
Where is that damn sound coming from?!

Stretching his hand out, Kevin quickly turns off the alarm clock that stands on the black sleek bedside table and sighs.

Ugh..
I guess now is as good a time as any to get ready..
What day is it again?

As he thinks back to the day before his eyes open and fall on the alarm clock, layed on top of the table.

Oh shiiitt
Think buddy what did we do last night?

It dawns on him, this is not his room. It may be the same size, and have the same modern style as his but...

Where is my guitar? My bookshelf should be right next to my bedside table!

He quickly sits up and looks across the bed. He finds, instead of his desk, a black wardrobe stands where his desk should be.

This is not my room!

He looks beside him and finds a woman sleeping.

Julia?!
What did I do last night?
Think Kevin! Think!
How the hell did I end up sleeping with Max's bestfriend?

His thoughts are interrupted by her soft snores. He quickly scans the room for his clothes and slowly gets out of the bed and quickly gets dressed.

Crap Kevin!
We need to have a conversation about your alcohol limits budy.
This can't happen again.
Like damm, she looks fine but I can't be doing this to myself.

As he leaves Julia's dorm room, he tries to remember the events from the night before. He had gone to a campus party with Max, as her date. She had introduced him to Julia, and then they talked for a bit and played drinking games. Max got drunk and they took Max to one of the bedrooms, where she passed out the instant she landed on the bed. Afterwards he only recollects  glimpses of dancing, socializing with some of the people Julia knew, drinking, kissing, drinking, and walking in the dark with a hottie on a red dress.

Guess that hottie was Julia.
Damm...
I better get out of here before Julia wakes up and decides to look for me.
The last thing I need is drama.

Once outside, he starts walking towards the parking lot.

Yes!!
My baby is parked here!
No need for Mauricio today!
You lucky bastard!
The party must have been in the dorms across from Julia's.

He gets into his dark gray 2017 Ford Mustang and drives away from the sophomore dorm rooms, heading towards his apartment.

While driving, he hears the familiar sound of his phone ringing.

Could it be Max?
I hope it's not Julia..
Please dont be Julia!
Let it be Natasha, lord please!

He grabs his phone and he is greeted by Max’s face.

Her smile..
Such a beutiful smile..

He answers, and the car is filled with her familiar soft voice.

“Good morning boo”

“Morning Max”

“Soo I was just wondering, how much of a fool was I last night? My headache is insane"

"I made sure you did nothing foolish, Julia helped me lay you down in one of the rooms"

"How nice of you guys"

"I got your back girl"

"Speaking of Julia, do you know what happened to Julia last night or who she went home with?”

“No, why?”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah, why?”

“Are you really sure? You are not lying to me Kevin?”

“Yes, I am very sure! Why would I lie you?”

“Really Kevin? You're going to play dumb with me?”

“Max, seriously, I have a huge headache right now. And I don’t have time for this shit. I told you I don’t know anything about Julia”

“You are such an asshole! I know what you did last night. Did you really think I wouldn't have found out?! You guys practicality had your tounges down each other's throats last night!! I saw the pictures. Lacy told me everything. You not only left me behind, but went home with my bestfriend!! To think... to think I was falling for you Kev.."

“Wow hold up a sec, for starters, I can barely remember last night. And you were falling for me Maxi?”

“Don’t call me that!”

“Look Maxi, I’m going to be honest with you. I only dated you because you seemed pretty chill but I told you I’m not looking for a relationship. I'm sorry for leaving you behind but that's all I'm apologizing for”

“Pretty chill? And that's all you have to apologize for?! So you have sex with every girl's best friend?!”

“Ugh.... I don’t have time for this. Yes, last night I slept with your best friend and you know what? I'm sure I loved it. But no worries Maxi, I loved having sex with you too.”

“… you… you bastard! douchebag! I can't believe you wou...”

“Bye Maxi”

He hangs up the phone and takes a deep breath.

I guess that's one less girl to worry about.
Well Kev, it's better this way.
She'll be mad, and get over me quickly.
I told her I wasn't interested in a relationship  but there she goes catching feelings.
This is why I prefer one night stands.
No need for notes, messages, or any form of emotional attachment.

He arrives to his apartment, and finds his roommate’s sister, Jessica, making pancakes.

"That smells amazing! I came in just in time!"

Every Saturday she comes to their apartment for breakfast. It’s the only day of the week she gets to spend time with her brother.

“Hey Kevin, you are up early”

She looks at him knowing he has mostlikely just rolled out of some poor girl's bed, hungover from the night before.

“I know”

He sits down on the kitchen bar stool anticipating her next words. They always have the same conversation when she comes over.

“You know... One of these days, these girls you like to mess with are going to bump into each other and plot something against you.”

She says as she mixes the batter.

“What movie have you been watching? John Tucker Must Die? This is real life, they are not going to find out.”

“If you say so. I'm only concerned about you Kev. I fear you are just blocking every chance you can get at finding the girl for you"

"Don't worry about me Jess. As long as I've got you to feed me, I dont need no love"

Jessica shakes her head as she plates pancakes for the three of them.
