Beca woke up to discover that it was still night. After taking a moment to remember where she was she made a second discovery, she was really really thirsty. Normally Beca would have just grabbed a drink from her water bottle that would have been right beside her bed. However, she was at Chloe's and had forgotten to do this.

Beca rolled over and gazed at Chloe. Even in sleep she was beautiful, her face illuminated by the moon shining through the window. Her orange hair was done in a loose plait but some strands had fallen out, framing her face. She wasn't wearing makeup but he features still stood out from her face. Her perfect jawline and soft lips. She looked so peaceful and perfect.

"Oh Chloe," Beca whispered, "You're beautiful."

There was a moment of pleasant silence.

"Thanks, you are too." A sleepy voice came from Chloe.

Shit! She was awake!? Beca felt her face flushing and she got up, she still needed that glass of water.

Beca made her way to the kitchen, almost banging into the bench. She got her glass of water and sat down at the kitchen island, sipping it and thinking about what had just happened. Chloe was pretty, it was true. Did it make Beca weird to think that. She knew Chloe liked her but did she like Chloe back? She wasn't sure.

Beca heard the sound of water behind her and turned to see Chloe getting herself a drink as well. She sat down opposite Beca and tucked some wispy bits of hair behind her ear.

"You okay Beca?"

"Yeah, I just needed some water, I forgot to put a glass beside the bed."

"I didn't mean that, you looked like you were deep in thought."

"Oh that! No, it's nothing."

"I can tell it's something. Come on, tell me!"

"Seriously Chlo, it's nothing important."

"Ah! So it is something!"

"You're putting words in my mouth."

Chloe looked at Beca's lips as she replied, "Becs, you have to tell me," She looked back up to her eyes, "I'm your best friend, I wont tell a soul. I pinky promise."

Beca laughed, "Well that settles it, you can't go back on a pinky promise." The sarcasm was evident.

Chloe looked back, dead serious. "Correct Beca. Pinky promises cannot be broken."

Beca was silent as she thought about what to say.

"Okay then. Chloe, what would you do if you knew someone liked you but you weren't sure if you liked them back? They didn't know you knew but it would still be simpler if you liked them back."

Chloe was silent for a bit before replying.

"Spend time with them, worst comes to worst you come crawling back to me saying you don't actually like them."

There was a silence while Beca processed this.

"By the way," Chloe said picking up her empty glass and walking behind Beca to the sink. "I know it's a girl you're thinking of."

Beca whipped her head around and Chloe winked at her before walking back to her room.

Beca drowned the last of her water before following Chloe back to her room. Chloe was on her side facing away from her and Beca whispered to her.

"I know you're awake."

"I'm trying to sleep, we can talk in the morning."

"But what did you mean you knew that it was a girl?"

Chloe turned over and looked straight into Beca's eyes, "I didn't know."

"But why did you-"

"When I said that you looked around at me and you were shocked. If I had been wrong, you would have made some dumb comment about it."

"Urgh, so I gave myself away."

Chloe smiled, "Precisely."

There was silence as Beca processed this.

"So," Chloe continued, "Are you going to tell me who it is?"

"No, that wasn't part of the deal."

"I bet it's one of the Bellas."

"How do you figure that?"

"You barely know anyone else, it's a fair shot."

"True. You're right, it's one of the Bellas."

"Is it Amy? Is that why she always winks at you and you go red?"

Beca thought it best to not get too specific. "I'm not telling you which one it is."

"Is it me?" She asked innocently.

Beca had always been terrible at lying and it was about to show. "No?" It sounded more like a question then an answer.

Chloe smiling knowingly before turning over towards the wall. "Okay, well I'm going to bed. Love you!"

"Good night."
