Our eyes met as you passed me by
Two souls entwined in the blink of an eye
And I had to figure out what I've been missing
So I turned to you, and asked you if you wanted to...♤♡◇♧
Monotonous beeping grating against his eardrums awoke the green-haired boy from his sleep.
He threw off his covers and snatched his phone off his bedside table, immediately shutting down the alarm and opening up the voice recorder app.
"Gar's log. Stardate, June 21st. Operation 'Save the Titans'. Day Alpha. There's a whole lot of work to do, and no-one to do it but me. So, let's get started!"
Connecting his phone to the speakers in his room, Gar turned his music up loud and began to get ready for the day. He bopped his head along to the drums and shrill guitars as he made his way to the kitchen after getting dressed and brushing his teeth, phone now blasting his tunes from his pocket.
Gar then accumulated every edible green thing from the kitchen, and blended them all together for breakfast. However, he found that despite the recipe claiming the smoothie was "rejuvinating and energising", he still felt somewhat sleepy.
He needed coffee. Like, now.
Every inch of every cupboard was searched frantically, but to no avail. They must have run out while everyone was still staying in the Tower, but no-one thought to say anything.
Was it Jason? He bet it was Jason. Or possibly Dick. There is no way Dick did what he did before at least six cups of coffee.
Or it could have been Rose, since she had stayed for only a few days and he knew nothing about her. Maybe she was the coffee thief.
Either way, Gar needed coffee.
He washed his empty cup and the blender, placing them off to the side to dry and then headed back to his room to pick up his jacket. He was about to take the elevator down to the first floor, but stopped himself before his thumb pressed the access panel when he realised he forgot something.
Shrugging off his satchel he jogged to the infirmary, and found the continuous beeping pulse displayed on the screens both comforting and ominous. It felt out of place in the vast silence that echoed throughout the rest of the tower, but as long as that pulse continued beating, he had not failed in his promise to Dick.
"Hey, Conner," He said as he examined every monitor meticulously. "I'm going out to get coffee because we're out. I won't be gone too long, and I'm coming straight back. Do you want me to get you something?"
No response from the comatose science experiment with the body of a god. Well, actually Superman, but god is close enough in both cases.
"What about you, Krypto? Do you want anything?" He turned to the pure white dog that lay dutifully across his friend's feet.
"Do Kryptonians even have coffee?" He wondered aloud, since there was no-one around capable of judging his half-baked thoughts.
After deciding that Conner's vitals were exactly where they should be, he bent to fuss over Krypto. He held the cute little face between his hands and spoke to him.
"Hold down the fort while I'm gone, alright boy?" Krypto licked his nose in response. "Good boy."

Luckily, there was a small coffeeshop just around the corner from Titans Tower, and Dick had always loved their coffee. It sucked that he wasn't there to drink it with him, but Gar had faith that he would come back. They all would.
