After his incident, the doctor told Jenna that Nathan is blind and requires for him to use some special glasses. This was after Napoleon neglected Nathan for that because he thought Nathan was useless. He was Nathan's only friend and he left him. Nathan was heartbroken from that, but the doctor's Pokemon, Reuniclus, felt bad for him, so they became his friend. They hang out a lot until the doctor was resigned to another hospital, but Reuniclus gave Nathan a pair of headphones to remember it before it left. Nathan didn't made another friend ever since. He hangs out with Verika and Marco, but he never consider them as friends. When he's alone, he listens to music on the headphones.
