Chapter 3

Victorias pov

I sit through the class taking notes waiting for the bell to ring. school is almost over just a bit longer.

c'mon bell ring!

*ring ring!*

I shoot up from my seat and throw my note book in my bag.

after adjusting my back pack I walk out of class to my locker.

I grab my headphones and sweatshirt. by now most of the crowed was cleared out. I saw a figure pushes against the wall reading a book. I squint my eyes to make out the face. it was spencer.

"Hmm why didn't he leave yet" I walk up to him and up-serve he is reading the page in less then 10 seconds

"You can't actually read that fast. can you?" I speak and he jumps

"Oh sorry you scared me.. um well yes actually our unconscious minds can process 11 million bits of information per seconds "

"Huh?"

"yeah I can read that fast."

"Why are you still here anyways?"

"Waiting for the crowd to clear up a bit. how about you?"

"Same. um so do you wanna ride home?"

"U-uh sure.." he stutters,

"don't be nervous it's just me Victoria " I laugh even tho we just met today there is something about him that makes me wanna be his friend .

he smiles at me and we walk out of the school.

"My car is over here" I point to my jeep.

He runs to the car and opens the door for me.

"Such a gentleman." I laugh and get into the drivers sit.

"Victoria?." Spencer speaks up,

"yeah Spencer?"

"D-do you get pick on a lot." he asks, his voice turning into a whisper.

I sigh. "no not really I'm just not.. notice you could say." I simply shrug

"Okay because an attractive girl like you should not be pick on."

"attractive? most people would say pretty or something." i laugh at his wording.

"I'm not most people."

___

"and here we are!"I pull up to his house.

"Thank you for the ride Victoria." Spencer smiles at me

"Like I said, call me Vic or Vicky." I wave him off.

___

"Mom!" I yell dropping my bag as I enter the house.

no answer.

"Mom?"

"What honey I was napping?" my mother speaks in a raspy voice.

"Oh sorry mom I thought you were at work, where's Stella?"

"Your father took her to the park."

"That's a first." I mumble to myself.

"Excuse me?"

"Nothing.."

my sister, Stella who is 3 years old barely has a dad in my opinion because he really only cares about himself and his work. I see him as a narcissist asshole (a/n if you don't know what narcissistic is, it means someone who only cares about themselves and is selfish, self centered) again in my opinion Stella and I mostly go to our mother as an actual parent. Maybe that's why they split.

"Look I know your father and I broke up but that doesn't mean you can just shut him out."

"Mom he is an asshole, you know what um the school gave me a lot of homework I should go and work on some."

If anything I can at lest use homework to get out of conversation.

"I hate physics!" I groan after about 2 hours of me trying to finish this dumb worksheet. "Walks help me clear my head." I mumble and stand up.

Slowly I walk down the stairs hoping my mother had fallen back asleep.

Quietly I open the door and smell the fresh air.

I'm just about done with school.
