"So, are we gonna ta-"

"No."

We both sat in silence.

Ash on one side of the table while I sat opposite.

"Do you think you can make it through today?"

I looked down at my hands, which were fiddling with the ends of the hoodie sleeves on the table.

"Hopefully."

We didn't really talk after that. How could we? After what we did, we probably shouldn't be alive.

I opened my hand palm towards me, the marking still there.

Ash put her hand over mine, "Look I'm sorry but we had to do it, both of us came back alive, not something I can say for someone else though."

Ash's other hand thumbed a picture of Lomi and her hugging, Lomi wasn't smiling though, she rarely did. It sent goosebumps racing down my back and limbs just thinking about what we did.

"Ash, are......are we murderers?" Ash looked down at the picture and back up at me,

"We probably are, but as long as we don't tell anybody we should be fine."

I closed my eyes, trying to get those screams out of my head.

'I KNEW IT!'

Ash's aunt pushed my arm away and slid out from under the bed, almost snake-like if that even made sense. She grabbed me and pushed me into the nightstand, lunging for Ash, 'I KNEW IT ASHLEY! YOU'RE THE DEVIL! I SAW YOU LURE MY BABY INTO THOSE WOODS! I SAW WHAT YOU DID!'

The aunt tackled Ash onto the ground and put her hands around her neck, trying to strangle her. I did the only thing I knew I could do at that moment.

I grabbed a palette knife

and I grabbed the left side of the aunt's head

and I stabbed the palette knife into her right ear.

"and you stabbed the palette knife into her right ear."

"...I stabbed the palette knife into her right ear..."

My hands started to shake and I felt my eyes started to water.

"Y/N, we did what we had to do. She would've killed us if you didn't ki.......if we didn't act fast." Ash held my hand, it felt kinda clammy. Both of us were still reeling after what happened.

"YYYYYYYY///////NNNNNNNNNN"

I felt a breeze on the back of my neck, somehow through my hair.

I knew it was that thing,

not Ash's aunt

but what we fed her to.

That thing, it said it was a spiritual being stuck between the transcendent and temporal realms. Whatever the fuck that is.

Lomi was taken care of by it. We had to go back down to check. It took care of the bag of clothes as well. Ash and I had to rewash her clothes and take another shower.

It was a chaotic morning.

School starts at around 7:45 am. It's 6:32 am right now.

We still have about an hour.

"Ash that thing is still here..."

Ash looked around the diner,

"Y/N I don't see Vendanta here, are you sure it's her?" I squeezed Ash's hands,
