Everyone knows Hope's Peak Academy. If you don't, either you've been living under a rock your whole life or you're from a country or civilization that's far away... and living under a rock. Everyone wants to be accepted into Hope's Peak Academy. There's no real reason why, as far as I can tell. Even to people who aren't Ultimate Students, it's The School that Ended the World. The cause of The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Despair Inducing Event in Human History. Yet almost 50 years later, it's back to being the most prestigious school in the entire world. But there are more people who fit the bill as an "Ultimate" now than ever before in human history. There are people who are given the title of "Ultimate" by a program called "The Ultimate Selection" but not all of them get into Hope's Peak. As an Ultimate myself, I wouldn't mind not going to the school, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited to have received a letter from them.

As Amaya Kakisu, the Ultimate Journalist, I was in the running to go to Hope's Peak Academy as a student.
There were a lot of students that were in the running to go, only Ultimates are chosen to attend the school each year. Well, there's an ultimate lucky student, who would be chosen from a lottery. There were already some rumors as to who was going to be chosen.
I guess I should start at the beginning then.
It begins with a train ride. A monorail, to be exact. Thinking back on it, that's the most fitting place a story like this can begin. I mentioned before how I received a letter from the school. Well, it wasn't an acceptance letter. Not a "Hey you were accepted into Hope's Peak!" Kinda acceptance letter at least. It was a letter asking 16 students to meet at the school's private dock. Apparently we were going on a cruise sponsored by the school. A trip that was supposed to last about two weeks at the most. Of course I immediately said yes. It's a Hope's Peak Academy event! You don't say no to that if you don't want to be ridiculed by everyone you know. Besides, I thought it was just going to be an orientation. Little did I know how wrong I was.
"Ugh, Where am i? Huh?" there was a green-haired girl beside me. "H-hey wake up!" the girl stood up, "Ahh! Oh, uh, who are you?"
"My name is Amaya Kakisu! I'm the Ultimate Journalist! My stories are written in the light of the truth! Nothing gets past my sight. If there's a scoop, expect Amaya Kakisu to be on the case!"
