London academy of music and dramatic art school accepted me for further studies. I was elated to stay there for four years and enjoy the city.It was my fourth and final year there and I had began my third class of the day. The clock struck noon and I walked over to the cafeteria. Being clumsy as I was, I tripped on the sidewalk and fell on top of my books. I was about to get up when I heard a baritone voice. It entered my ears like fluffy pieces of velvet. It was as if an angel composed the tone of this sound. The voice said,"Are you ok?" It was british. Oh how I loved British people! I turned around and stared at him in awe like he was a rare Picasso painting. His eyes grabbed my complete attention. I thought I was traveling into the galaxies of the universe in that one second. And his cheekbones! Oh those cheekbones were the product of a master chisler. I wonder if he polishes them daily? Nonetheless he stared back at me and with a look of amusement.
"Hi, I'm Rachel."
"And I'm Benedict."
That voice just shut me out from the entire world around me. The world completely stopped spinning on its axis. I think I'll just marry him now.
"Haven't seen you around campus. How long have you been here?"
I replied with a slight stutter, "Four years now."
"Wow, and I can't believe I haven't even bumped into someone this beautiful yet.
Did he just say beautiful?!?! Was this even happening to me? I simply giggled back and continued strolling with him to the commons. He engaged me with such lively chatter I had never known before. He was so cordial, polite, and proper. I guess thats a common trait for most british people.
"Well, Ive got to head over to my other class. Hope to see you around soon," he said with a short wave.
His auburn hair just fluttered in the wind and his back was perfectly aligned as he walked. He was quite the fairytale man.
I rushed over at the end of the day to the dorms to see me friend and tell her all that happened.
"That awkward moment! You just tripped and he asked if you were ok? I wished that happened to me."
"I know it was just so wonderful. You just had to be there."
"Sounds like the best chance encounter I have ever heard of. I think I'll try to stalk him now with stalker pictures for you."
"Your out of your mind."
After studying for our exams, we both went to bed. During the middle of the night, a pelting sound against our window could be heard from within. I went up to the window and opened. Below I spotted a figure that was tall and slender. It said, "Hello? Rachel?" I discovered that it was the beautiful brit I had met yesterday. What could he possibly want at this late hour? I replied with a silent yes. He told me to meet him at the fountain behind the dorms. I slipped into my day clothes and took my cellphone. Once I got there, I saw him sitting on a bench in front of the lighted cascade of water.
"What are you doing here?"
"Oh you just intrigued me so much that I wanted a bit more time to talk to you."
This was kind of strange to meet a complete stranger you have just met in the middle of the night. He proceeded talking away and then he said something very astounding that blew my mind completely away. He said, "Will you come to the winter formal with me?" I was absolutely dumbfounded and thought I was dreaming. I looked around and convinced my self it was a dream due to the fact that everything around was quiet, I was with this perfect person, and everything was so dang perfect! So I said to myself,'Why not I explore this dream even further, since I can do whatever I want in a dream.' I had truly convinced myself that it was a dream and went along with it. I went over to him and placed my finger on his lips to silence him. He asked me why I did that and I said not to worry. I leaned over and kissed him passionately. He pulled away after a couple of seconds and he just stared at me with utter surprise. I thought this particular dream was supposed to go my way where he kisses me back, but he strangely didn't. I also explored further and I spotted an empty bucket nearby. He looked puzzingly at me and got up to see what I was doing. I thought up a better thing to do when he approached me by the fountain. I grabbed his arms and pushed him into the water with a loud splash. He looked so confused and drenched. I looked at him and smiled back because who cares, it was a dream. I walked away back to my dorm and told him that I would see him later.
The next morning I woke up refreshed and went to go to my first class. I thought it would be lovely to stop by his dorm since he had given me his dorm number before he left me the first day we met. I knocked on his door and he answered. He had a look of astonishment on his face when he saw me. He stuttered to say something to me, but all that came out was "Hey. I-I-I didn't expect you to come." I asked him if I could come in and he said sure. I was bewildered why he had such an expression on his face. Nevertheless I walked in and saw a pile of clothes next to his bed where I sat.
"Why are these clothes drenched with Wa---ter?"
My sentence trailed off silently and it had triggered a memory in my mind. I remembered that I pushed him into the fountain and kissed him in the dream I had last night--or was it?
He looked at me with no response and told me that he was going to be leaving soon so it was best that I be going.
I went back to my dorm and saw my friend. I told her what had happened and she stared at me with amazement. She leaned her head against my shoulder and just stood there trying to comprehend what had happened.
"Nice going Juliet."
"I never knew British people could be so polite," I replied.
"That awkward moment you think its a dream and it isn't. Wow."
"I just thought it was impossible to have the perfect guy come and summon you from your dorm like a true Romeo and then ask you to the formal. I really messed it up."
" Yes, I think you did. Well at least you know that London will not be the best place to live. Well, I have to go to the newsroom and write this article for our news website. See you later."I sat in the room by myself, trying to comprehend what had happened.
So thats what happens when you are not careful with what life brings you. Don't be fooled children.
