New Year's Eve

One-shot

        Mitch grinned as he opened the door to Avi holding a pizza. 

        "Hey babe!" Avi smiled and leaned in to kiss Mitch on the cheek.

        "Hey, come in!" Mitch said as he moved to allow Avi to enter. 

        The two of them had been dating for about three months now, and it was going really well. The only time they really argued was over what to eat for dinner (We can't have barbeque every night, Mitch had insisted). They hadn't said "I love you" yet either. Mitch had known how he felt about Avi for awhile now, but he didn't want to scare him by moving too fast. After all, Avi did come out for him, and Mitch knew that that was enough scary for a lifetime.

        They were at Scott and Mitch's apartment alone because Scott was at some New Year's Eve party with Alex. Before he started dating Avi, Mitch would have gone to the party too. But Avi wasn't really one for parties, and Mitch would never make him do something he was uncomfortable with.

             It was 11 o'clock. Avi opened the food while Mitch grabbed plates. After getting the food, Avi took their plates over to the couch while Mitch grabbed a bottle of wine and two glasses. Crossing back to Avi he sat down and poured the wine.

        "Here's to all the wonderful things that happened in 2014, and an even better 2015!" Avi said.

        "I'll drink to that!" Mitch replied with a smile. Touching his glass to Avi's and sipping his wine.

        They finished their pizza and listened to music until about 11:45. Then they put "New Year's Rockin' Eve" on the televison and started watching. They laughed at Ryan Seacrest and watched Beyonce perform live. Soon, the countdown started. The two were planning on kissing right when the countdown hit zero so they could start 2015 on a good note.

They moved even closer together on the couch than they had been.

Avi placed his hand on Mitch's knee.

Mitch placed his hand on top of Avi's and squeezed it gently.

They smiled at each other happily.

Mitch moved his free hand up to Avi's shoulder.

Avi leaned in and whispered "I want to end 2014 on a good note as well."

Mitch leaned back, confused, but Avi just smiled and brought Mitch's face close to his again.

"This." Avi explained, and pressed his lips to Mitch's.

Mitch responded immediately and began moving his lips against his partner's.

Avi cupped Mitch's face with his hand while kissing him slowly.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

They both smiled into the kiss and Mitch tangled his hand into Avi's hair. After a few more moments, they pulled back slowly.

Avi grinned. "Happy new year, Mitchie."

"Happy new year, baby,"

        Avi leaned back into the couch and opened his arms. Mitch smiled and crawled into them, cuddling into Avi's chest. After awhile, Avi spoke.

        "Hey babe? Can I tell you something?" Avi asked hesitantly.

        Mitch pulled back slightly and looked at him."Of course Av, anything."

        Avi smiled softly and blushed. "I love you, Mitch. I'm really glad I got to start the new year with you."

        Mitch grinned and leaned back in, kissing him slowly. "I love you too, baby."
