I ran, fast as I could, heart pounding, legs racing, paws pounding the ground. I howled, trying to distract them. Calling to my pack was a last resort, but it was necessary. Gyeande raced next to me, and responded to my howl with one of his own. Gwen raced on my other side, howling. We came to a skidding stop, three boulders blocking our paths. Gwen and Gyeande whipped around, growling, as they closed in. I looked up at the moon, praying to De La Luna, for safe passage under her watch. As they closed in, hollowed out eyes, malicious, snarling grins, and matted fur were all I saw. "The girl...."  He snarled. "where IS SHE?" Gwen whimpered, as he sprayed saliva all over her. Gyeande snarled, eyes glowing. "No! Do not lose yourself here!" I snarled, trying not to let my fear show. "You've lost her, haven't  you? You FOOL! I gave you your chance, and you failed. Now? You will pay with your life!" I quivered and shook, but as Gwen and Gyeande lunged, the air filled with a metallic twinge of blood, and the growling and snarling of the wolves wrestling, trying to get a bite in, or the fatal mark. The last dark wolf lunged at me, and my last thought before everything went black? I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you.
