"WHATS WITH ALL THE HAMBURGER?" questioned randall as he took wrapped up hamburger meat out of jacks backpack.

cassidy looked from the meat, to randall, and back to the meat a bit confused.

"i don't know. tradition." answered jack as he began to stare at the short girl cassidy remembered from the bar that one day. she was walking down the stairs on a call with someone.

cassidy leaned towards jack, "who's that?" he turned towards her, shocked by how close their faces were, before responding, "her name is gabrielle... wait aren't you suppose to know all the neophytes names?"

randall looked at cassidy, wondering how jack knew about her, before she responded, "jack i have no idea what or who a neophyte is but how am i suppose to know everyone at this college?"

"just... nevermind." responded jack before he watched gabrielle begin to walk away. jack quickly tapped randall's chest, "here we go."

randall grabbed cassidys hand to pull her with them as the three began to follow the freshman girl.

gabrielle was so busy on the phone she bumped into another girl. gabrielle scoffed before she stated, loud enough even cassidy and them could hear, "excuse you!"

gabrielle rolled her eyes before she began to walk again.

"pretty badass, morton. using fellow students as bait." stated randall as cassidy caught onto what they were doing. she glared at jack and he chucked uncomfortably, "that's not what we are doing."

"we're not following suspected pledges around, hoping a werewolf will show up to kill them?" questioned randall and jack sighed, "shit. that's exactly what we are doing. we need a better plan."

randall chuckled, "dude, trust me, this is a great one." randall then pushed jack forward, "go get her!"

cassidy chuckled, "and don't get eaten by any werewolves!" jack ignored the girl and continued to walk off.

randall looked at cassidy, "wanna go back to the blade & chalice? i'll buy you a beer." she smiled, "how could i pass up that opportunity!"

CASSIDY AND RANDALL SPENT THE REST OF THE DAY TOGETHER. they had taken a corner of the blade & chalice as their own and had worked on school and joked around all day.

jack walked in looking a bit spooked so cassidy waved him over. he look a seat on the opposite side of randall that cassidy was and told the two all about what had happened to him and alyssa.

randall, who had been sipping his drink, put it down, "so, now it's a "mud monster" jack picked up his beer, "i can't think of a better way to describe it."

randall spoke up again, "any idea what it is? where it went? what it's after?"

"it kills pledges. that's all i've got." responded jack as cassidy continued to think of what the monster might be. randall questioned, "but why is it targeting you? you're not even a pledge."
