In order to avoid the zombies down the street the boys were going to cut through a building like they had when they brought Jadyn back to the house. When they went to the door...it was locked. They glanced at each other..it wasn't supposed to be locked. "Zion, give me a boost." The red-head looked beyond skeptical but complied anyway. Harry looked around on the roof, finding a hole that led into the building. He fell through it, landing on his feet. The unmistakable scent of a zombie's rotting flesh assaulted his senses and he was immediately on alert. Taking his knife from his pocket he looked around. He didn't see anything, but that didn't mean it wasn't wandering. What had he gotten himself into? He glanced back at the door. It wasn't just locked, there was a barricade. There was no way he could move it without alerting said zombie to his presence. He heard a growling noise. It sounded closer than before. He looked around and saw a half turned zombie by a nearby shelf. He waited a minute to see what it would do. It stayed put so he snuck around behind it, before stabbing it in the neck. It made a thudding sound when it hit the floor and Zion and Ethan grew worried. Ethan looked around and saw a trash bin. He moved it just enough that he and Zion could get on the roof and drop down into the hole as well. Harry turned when he heard them hit. He had been working on the barricade. Ethan saw the zombie. "You alright?" He asked. Harry turned to face his friends. "Yeah, want to help me with this?" They did, helping him move the overturned locker back upright. "We'll leave the door locked, just so there aren't anymore..unwanted guests." Ethan picked up a note.

My time is up. I ventured away to look for supplies and now I'm bitten. I knew coming to this town was a mistake. They say no one has come in or out of here since outbreak day and now I know why. Those monsters are everywhere, they'll get you before you know it. Paranoia is setting in, the walls are moving. I just wanted to be helpful to the group, guess now I know I'm just a fuck up all the way around.

Zion shivered. "Well wasn't he just a big fucking bundle of joy.." Harry sighed. "What could they be talking about?" He wondered. "Zombies? I mean, they pretty much are everywhere." Ethan replied. Harry looked thoughtful. "Maybe.." Ethan put the note back down, eyeing the fallen zombie. There was a gun in the waistband of his pants and Ethan pulled it free. He checked the clip and found some extra bullets, handing them to Harry. "What do you say we check this place out before we move on?" Harry nodded. "As long as we're quiet and don't make any loud noises we shouldn't alert the ones outside." They checked everywhere, finding very little. "There's nothing here.. Lets keep going.." The other two boys agreed. They went out the back door into an alley, looking up and down the snow covered street before venturing further.

Night had fallen over the house. Eugene had decided he would share the room with Jadyn. The poor girl hadn't woke up since she'd passed out in Harry's arms before he left. Her fever was still high and she fussed occasionally in her sleep. The blonde boy hoped that the rag he had put on her forehead would keep the fever at bay long enough for Harry and the others to get back. Eugene himself felt restless. He wanted to pace, to run his hands over the keys of a piano, to do something but he planted himself in the chair next to her bed and settled for tapping out a tune on his crossed legs. He had long since forgotten the name and the lyrics, but the music of it was stuck in his head. As he tried to remember what the lyrics were he realized that his fingers had slowed down. His brain getting slower in sending the signals to tap. He didn't mind, sleep was finally claiming him.
