Alone. I remember being here before, but just can't recall when. It was dark and quiet. A bit too quiet. Walking slowly on the cold tiled floor with fear and horrific images in the back of my mind. " Summer come here, let's play a game" deeply whispered a familiar voice. My breathing gets heavier as the sentence replays in my head.
It was pitch dark except for the small hope of light coming from the room on the second floor I saw in front of me. I stood there shivering as the sweat ran down the back of my neck as my heart beated faster. "C'mon Summer, it'll be fun" said again the voice but with a bit of more aggressiveness in my name. I was petrified. I look around for a way out but saw nothing but darkness. I suddenly feel a strong tug on my left foot causing me to scream and run up the flights of stairs. Running as fast I could in my 16 years of life.
Thump thump, thump thump. My heart beating even faster full of fear. I stop in front of the room, panting out of breath. I slowly catch my breath and reach down feeling my foot making sure I wasn't cut or bleeding. I get back up and turn to where the stairs should have still been, but are no longer there. I was trapped. Nowhere to go but in that room in front of me. Where it waited. Taking a deep breath in, I walked in.
I quickly rub my hands along the wall searching for a light switch. My finger scraps against something sharp, I bit my lips from making any sound. I feel the blood trickling slowly down my finger. I ignore it and keep searching. Finally finding a circular button. The lights begin to flicker on and off before I even get to press the button. Trying to see where I was in the few seconds the lights were on. Saw nothing but old furniture. I breathe heavily hugging my body trying to comfort myself.
The lights turn on allowing me to clearly see around. I look around wishing they were still off. A group of men slowly walked towards me. Their arms dangling from their bodies walking swiftly to me calling my name. "Summer, Summer" their voices crackling and louder as they came closer. I turn and tug on the door behind me to find out it was locked. I'm trapped. I think to myself. I kneel down and huddle myself into a ball on the ground. Losing all hope I shut my eyes squeezing my arms around my legs. "Summer! Summer!" I feel a light tug on my arm. Looking up to see a child's hand wrapped around my forearm."Ahhhhh!" I yell shaking trying to escape it. My eyes open as I hit the hard ground.
"Woah Summer, what's gotten in to you?" Asked my sister Hailey looking frightened. I look around and realize it was all just a dream. Looking over to my digital clock reading 3:48am and say "I'm fine... Just a nightmare". She walks back to her room as get up and lay my head back down trying to fall asleep again.
