Prologue

        Erica Marie Jenkins was born in Dublin, Ireland to Sophie and Adam Jenkins on September 13, 1993. When Erica was three, her parents were caught in a fatal car accident. Erica was then sent to her elderly grandparents home, not far from her home. They moved to Lexington, Kentucky, where she grew up.

         Kentucky. The only place she remembers. Erica remembered bits and pieces about her parents, but not much. She was only three years old when they passed away.

And then, she moved to Kentucky. She was four by then.

At thirteen, Erica was stressed out. Her grandparents were both very ill. The doctors said they only had a few weeks to a month to live. Both of them. It was barely a month that went by, and both of them were gone. Just a few weeks in between each other. Erica was forced into foster care. She didn't want to, but there was no choice.

After a month in the orphanage, her friend, Daisy Robbins, visited her. Daisy's mother saw how sad and depressed Erica was in the orphanage. After talking to some people, Erica was adopted by the Robbins'.

At fifteen, Erica was in high school.

She made one new friend, Travis Laine. Of course, Daisy was still her best friend, sister, everything Erica needed.

Erica was debating on going on X-Factor. After asking her parents millions of times, they finally said yes. She talked a lot about it to Daisy and Travis. September third of 2008 finally rolled around, that year. Erica flew to the UK with Daisy and her parents.

After getting to the UK, Erica was getting anxious. She couldn't wait until her audition, but she was nervous.
