Don't over-do your descriptions with narcissistic details.

He (i) was (am) handsome, beautiful eyes, and a sexy body.

How in the world is that supposed to help us? Honestly, we just may think of handsome as a large sumo wrestler with enough rolls to fill a bakery. Be descriptive about there features, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, so watch out the beholder might have weird taste in men or women.. Or both.

If you have problems with describing things, get an editor. No, not someone you pay just someone you trust enough not to steal your stuff. An editor would be a good idea, however you should be careful just because they will edit does not mean they are any good. Check there work out!

Don't make your title to dang long.

EX; The sexy belly dancer and the ugly, fat, wannabe fall in love and have six kids.

Ok so a story title should be just enough to capture interest, but enough to say what the story is about.

Say you are writing a story about fairies it should be called... Tiny wings... Because your typical fairy has well- tiny wings, or something along those lines.

Now just in case you actually are writing about a story with fairies, I wouldn't suggest to rename your story 'Tiny Wings' other people might have used it all ready.

My biggest problem when reading is typos. Spell check is here on wattpad... USE IT.

When I read a sentence that is supposed to say:

"I love you baby, but I'm a vampire."

And it turns out looking like:

"I <3 u bayb, bt im a vampire."

First off what does a less than sign and a 3 have to do with anything? Sure it looks kind of like a screwed up heart on paper but do you go up to your boy/girl friend saying, "I less than sign, 3 you?" I would hope not because that is weird.

This is an ebook site not a place to use texting language.

Even if your character is texting, write it as it would be said out loud. Some people don't understand your text format.

Don't stop writing in the middle of an action scene. If I'm reading I want suspense but I don't want to read;

He round house kicked him, then chuck Norris popped his beard fist into his face and people circled around chuck. Then....

Ok so during an action scene you want your readers to be on the edge of there seat. You want them to get upset if a main character dies. If you stop in the middle of a scene it takes away effect. That extra pazaz is very much needed.

Use actual fight moves in a fight, look up YouTube videos if you don't know any.

Even if no body knows the fight moves, it sure does sound cool. (briefly explain what it actually does though)

Ex ; He then pulled a green butterfly.(flies up in air and brings elbow down on head)

That isn't a real fight move, it's also not described very well but I hope you get the point.

Well in my opinion, votes shouldn't be something you have to ask for(even though I ask people to vote for other writers)

But if you really need the votes start a thread in the forums. If that fails message me(: I will vote but you better put my advice to good use.

Constantly complaining that your story sucks because no one gives you feedback I would suggest to just relax. Your writing because you want to. It doesn't matter if no one comments because your not writing for them.

However if you really want feedback ask people. Tell your friends to comment tell everyone. Get YOUR name in the spotlight(;

I can help but I can only help three or four people a day so keep reminding me everyday in a comment.

Don't make yourself sound like a conceited jerk.

This is a tip for more than just wattpad... But don't tell people you will read, vote, comment, or whatever if your going to fall short. It makes you a liar. Don't bash others stories, unless they ask. The worst thing for most people to handle is criticism, especially when you wake up to an alert from your computer saying you received a comment and when you read it, all it is is crap.

Another thing, don't tell people not to advertise there story on your page. Why?

1) people look up to your work they want you to read it.

2) you know they still will advertise.

3) you as well have probably been in that 'beginning' stage of writing, desperate for people to see your story.
