A long day of work is finally over. I plopped on my brand new couch. My apartment isn't blinged out but it was enough to settle me and my kids. I looked at my wrist watch and noticed it was time to pick Taysha up from school. I got up and walked toward the door. I grabbed my keys off the hook and walked out.
Tayshawn
" Good work today Tayshawn. Me and the rest of the crew was going out for burgers. Wanna tag along? ", asked my partner, Bennet. " Yeah. Just let me make a quick call. ".
Bennet turned around and yelled to the rest of the crew. I dialed December's number. She answered on the first ring. "Hello?". "Yeah. You picking up Taysha?". "Yes I am. Don't worry, she'll be fine." I sighed. "What Tayshawn?" "Nothing. The boss told me to do an overnight shift." "Wow. I'll make sure I bring the kids over to see you tonight." " Thanks Dee. Umm I gotta go." "Ok. See you later." "See you later." I ended the call and shoved my phone in my pocket.
" WHO'S READY FOR SOME BURGERS! ", I yelled. The men yelled back and we was out the station.
December
I pulled up to Sunshine Elementary School and saw Taysha playing with her school friends. I got out the car and walked up to her.
" Mommy! ", she yelled. "Hey Taysha.", I said scooping her up in my arms. " How was your day? " " Umm..good. I had a test today. I didn't pass it. ". She pouted and I put her down. "Why didn't you pass. Your daddy isn't going to be happy." A big smile appeared on her face and she pulled a piece of paper. The paper had a red 105 % on it. " I even got the bonus mommy. " I laughed and helped her into her booster seat.
It was placed between the twin's car seats. I got into the driver seat and pulled off. "You know what? I think we should celebrate. Me you and the twins.". She smiled quickly but it vanished as fast as it came. "What about daddy? Are you two arguing?". "No. Daddy has to work longer tonight. You know if he works longer he gets more money." She looked down. "What about tomorrow? Daddy doesn't work on Fridays anymore." I smiled and looked up at the mirror.
We finally approached at the twins daycare. "Can I sit in the car?", asked Taysha reading her Magic Treehouse book. I nodded my head and walked out of the car.
