Victor walked through the silent yet filled hallways of Cadea High. Weird and for a school I know but you try coming up with a better name on short notice.
For all he knew he was that thought in the back of everyone's mind that you just can't seem to acknowledge if it's not in your favor. He made his way through the dull hallway to his locker. The sweet sounds of Melanie Martinez playing in his mind over and over again analyzing the lyrics thoroughly just go keep his mind occupied. There were too many things that could create cluster up there. The fact that his mom was drinking again, judging by the dirty wine glass in the sink. His younger sister, aged 12, has to transfer to Cadea on account of unpleasant experiences at her old school. To put it short things weren't safe there for her. She started classes next week giving Victor some time to ensure things were well with her transfer papers as well as her classes.
He had no clue of his father's whereabouts nor did he really care. It was always him. From the day he could speak it was him against this unforgiving world, keeping everyone in check even when everything was falling apart. I guess....it was just his nature.

Maya knocks on the locker besides Victor. He looks at her and a smile creeps up on his face as he chuckles softly. "If it isn't miss Anna, what do I owe this honor?" She blushed as he called her by her middle name. Maya 'Anna' Prospers was Victor's friend from grade school. She lived a short bus ride away and had his back for as long as he could remember. " Drop the act Toria!" She giggled softly before chatting on about the party last Saturday. Everything was a blur, all he remembered was the smell of desperation and vodka.
He walked Maya to her class and went on to his. Physics. The most god forsaken subject, besides math, that ever existed.
