"Todays the day" Jasmine thinks, eyes still closed snug under her blanket wishing she wouldnt have to leave. Sun peeking through her blinds and sweet sound of birds outside the window erge her more to embrace the life around in the comin winter season. "Jasmine, Early bird catches the word. I dont want my only daughter late for her first semester" Jerome, Trinas step dad says as he burst in her room. " I thought we had this conversation about privacy" She says slightly annoyed, " besides my first class doesnt start until 11 and its 8:45" Jerome smiles and slowly exits the room but before leaving he goes to her bed and gives her a small pat on the shoulder "Dont forget... Your still my little girl." " I know" Jasmine says as she comes from under her blanket. Even though he's not her real father, Jerome has always been there. 7 months pregnant and in a relationship that caused nothing but pain. He moved her out, treated her like a queen and ever since then he's never let her down or hurt her. Even though he was corny and cheap Jasmine loved him because he gave her a better life than her father couldve ever given her. *Jasmine looks at the clock* " 10:46....Shit" Jasmine quietly says quickly getting out of bed.
