Many weeks had passed since my arrival in the first plane. After travelling as far and wide as I could, and using my magic to track any rogue witches or rogues of other species, I found a lead in a small town called Blue Hill.

I quickly discovered that the town was home to a werewolf pack. That wasn't great news for me. As far as I knew, most species on the first plane did not like others trespassing in their territories. Werewolves and vampires were among the worst for this. To make matters worse, Witches were seen as a huge threat to other beings due to their incredible abilities. I knew that I couldn't get caught by the pack if I wanted to investigate Rae's disappearance.

One of the rogue witches I had met, who was living among humans, exchanged the witch currency I had for human money and gifted me an enchanted amulet to hide my distinct witch energy. The woman was very kind to me as a fellow rogue witch and seemed to sympathise with my situation.

My only option was to pretend I was a human, moving to Blue Hill to start a new life. The kind witch had told me that in order to blend in I should either go to the local high school or get a job. Being with so many students, most of which were likely werewolves felt too risky. So I settled for finding a job at a small cafe at the back of the town's high street. That way I would be able to afford to rent a small flat in the town to live in, instead of living in the forest where I was at risk of being caught.

Werewolves knew when someone new entered their territory. Human's were allowed as they rarely knew of werewolf existence, therefore I was going to have to be the best damn human the world had ever seen.

I moved in as quickly as possible, buying human necessities with the little money I had left after renting the small apartment. The cafe had accepted me and I was meant to start work the next day. Things were going well.

It only took three hours for the wolves to start appearing in the forest near my flat. I knew they were likely checking out the new resident to see if they were a threat; I only hope my amulet was working. They didn't stick around for long, returning to their alpha shortly after appearing.

It had worked! They thought I was human. Peering out the window, I made sure the wolves were gone before pulling out a notebook where I had written all the information I could on Rae's disappearance. There still wasn't a lot to go on other than what Minerva had told me and the accounts of several rogue witches in the first plane. Rae had apparently been attempting to make connections with the rogues in order to create a small army of witches. A few, who knew of Rae's reputation, had agreed to support her while others brushed her off as delusional.

Her investigation had led her to Blue Hill, where Rae was supposedly meeting up with a band of witches who sat just outside of werewolf territory. That was the last lead I got and the exact location of the witches was nowhere to be found. I would have to search for them manually.

I waited until it was dark before setting out on my first venture. Dressing in all black, with the same black veil to hide my face, I started at the north of the town, heading away from the buildings and into the dense forests that surrounded the town. By the time morning came, I had found nothing and returned to my flat.

Shaking off the disappointment, I slept for a few hours before getting up and dressing for my first day at work. I'd had to research how cafe's worked as there was no such thing on our plane. The first plane was a very unique world to me and I was struggling to adapt. However, I couldn't waste time on my emotions at present. There were much more important things at hand.

The cafe was a short walk from my flat and the owner, a human man, gratefully welcomed me as I entered the small building. "Hello, hello. Adelaide? It's so nice to meet you," the small, smiling man said as he shook my hand. Gavin Jones: Brunette, brown eyes, tanned skin and blissfully unaware about magical species. That was immensely helpful to my cause.
