this story is directly inspired by herman hesse's demian. demian was also a big influence on bts' wings era.
this is is a more modern (and gay) take on demian, though the concepts, characters and aspects of the storyline are similar.
demian is a book about light and dark, good and evil, right and wrong. struggling to find himself in these parallel worlds is the book's narrator and main character sinclair. he meets demian in his youth, who becomes like a mentor to him, and is the first to open his eyes to the blurred lines of the world.
