Tais backstory:

He was raised by Oilver when he was a kid,and his life was pretty nice.Oilver did treat him well,and liked being around Tai.Unfortunately,when Tai was seven,Zao came and said he was gonna raise him instead.Oilver didn't see anything wrong with it,because that WAS in fact his older brother.
After he was taken away...Zao made his life a living hell.

This explains why Tai knows British slang,knows other British things,and also calls himself British instead of Asian...sometimes.The only one who he's really related to is Zao,and not Kuro,Ming,Bian ect.
