"Wassup fuckers!" Richie grinned, swinging around his water bottle as he took a seat next to Eddie and Ben.
It was Monday lunchtime at Derry high school, the day after the Bowers incident and the carving initials. Richie regretted it with everything in him, but R+E could mean anything. Rebecca and Elanor, Rachel and Ethan, a lot of name combinations. Richie's bruises were still pretty bad and there was a big scratch down his face- he had gotten new glasses right after his dad went ballistic.
Everyone apart from Beverly and Eddie winced. "Ooh, Rich that looks bad," Ben said. "Is this the work of Henry Bowers?"
"It is indeed my dear Haystack." Richie smiled, swiping one of Eddie's crackers. Eddie gave him a death stare.
"That's nothing to be proud of, Rich," Stan said from the other side of the table. "He really got you good, and I don't really hate to say it but we told you so." Bill giggled by Stan's side and Richie didn't look amused at all.
"Thank you, Stanley." Richie sneered. Richie let himself zone out as soon as Bill and Stan started talking again, he got distracted by Eddie struggling to take his placebos. He was struggling to swallow them.
Richie tapped Eddie's shoulder and the smaller brunette looked next to him with furrowed eyebrows.
Richie imitated putting a pill on his tongue and counted down on his fingers. After 3 they both swallowed, Eddie wincing a bit and then clutched his throat.
"You're welcome, Eds." Richie grinned.
Eddie sighed, finished his cracker and rubbed his hands together to get rid of the crumbs. "You didn't disinfect your cuts," Eddie said, gently tracing the scratch down Richie's forehead and shook his head when Richie winced.
"And did you apply any cream to your bruises?" Eddie put pressure under Richie's eye and sighed again when Richie said, "Ow! Jesus Eds what're you doing?" Richie tried to pull away but Eddie just grabbed his cheek and drew Richie's face to meet his own again.
"Stop it you idiot, I'm trying to help." Eddie said through clenched teeth. Richie kept pulling away and he wore an evil grin, there was nothing he liked more than irritating the fuck out of Eddie.
"Get off me face, Kaspbrak," Richie put on an accent that wasn't even located anywhere and Eddie sighed angrily again. "I'll bite you." Eddie squinted.
"You wouldn't dare." Eddie hesitated to put his hands back on Richie's face but when he did, Richie pretended to take a bite and Eddie retracted his hand.
"Stop it! You fucknut I'm trying to help!" Eddie repeated. "Touch my face again and I'll naw your arm off, Edward." Richie shouted.
Eddie snorted and Richie grabbed his arm, and Eddie quickly stopped laughing. "No, no no! Let go! Let me go you fucker! If you touch my arm I'll chop your balls of!" Eddie bellowed, laughing a bit as he tried to wriggle out of Richie's grip.
"You know what, Richie I dare you to be quiet until next period." Stan shouted, slamming his hand down on the table. Richie looked offended and he started, "But he was talking too!" Stan hushed him and Eddie giggled.
Richie gave Eddie a pretend death stare and Eddie recreated Richie's look. "How's it like not being able to talk, Trashmouth?" he smiled. Richie made unamused humming noises and pushed Eddie's water bottle off the table. Eddie gawped and looked at Stan. Stan rolled his eyes and said, "Richard. Pick Eddie's bottle up."
"I can't b-believe it's gotten t-tuh-too the point where S-stan has to mother you t-two." Bill laughed, taking a bite out of his red apple.
Richie imitated him jerking off and Bill stopped chewing. "Not at the lunch table, Richie." Beverly said, playing around with her sushi. Richie looked at Beverly with an unamused face as she smiled sarcastically.
"Make sure you do the washing up when you get home Richie!" Ben said in a squeaky voice, making everyone laugh, apart from Richie of course.
