even from the start, Richard knew y/n valued her space. She was more of a wallflower than anything, she loved being off to the side and just observe everyone while sitting at a quiet park. It wasn't that y/n wasn't in love with richard, she just enjoyed her some time, that was all. So after her day out, she returned home to her small apartment. Her phone began ringing so she picked up, curious to see who would be calling her at 6 pm. She smiled as she heard an all too familiar voice from the other end.

think i'm better off her alone tonight 

you described your extremely stressful day to him, of course richard being richard wanted to come over and make sure you were okay. But since you hated being dependent to others, you told him that you were fine and that tomorrow would be a new day, and a fresh start to everything. So after an hour of talking, you hung up and made some food for yourself, then made sure to take some time to just relax and unwind from the day. After taking a nice bath however, you were ready for bed. So, you changed into your most comfortable clothes you could find in the closet and slipped them on before getting into bed. Since it was winter, you cuddled into the mound of blankets that laid on top of you, of course it would never compare to richard, but it had to do.

even though there wasn't anything wrong tonight

whenever richard visited your apartment only to find you missing from your usual place on the couch, he knew you were out walking in the park, probably clearing your mind. He'd text you to make sure you're okay and to tell you where he was if you needed someone to talk to. And even after talking to richard and enjoying his presence, you just needed some time alone to reflect what occurred during the day. Even if it was a good or bad day, it's 

always good to reflect

I can't really miss you if i'm with you 

whenever richard wasn't on tour, he'd come visit your apartment every other day to check up on you and make sure you were doing well. And every time you visited the door, you'd always greet him with a smile and a hug. Since he was always traveling, you got into the habit of saying, "I miss you." to him every time you saw him even if you only saw him a couple hours prior. He still loved that about you, he loved how you were always in the moment and if he was about to leave for a trip, she wouldn't be all emotional about it, she would cherish the days before he would fly out. And that's why he loved her.

baby, you know time apart is beneficial 

when richard came back from tour, you always greeted him with a long and passionate kiss. Having richard gone for months at a time will course result you missing him, but after getting home you respected his space as well and give him time apart for him to recover from traveling

it's like i'm the universe and

give you the world, i'ma need space 

people often joked on how richard was the nasa to your universe and how even though you were his world, he would always give you the space you needed. you're his star, and he wanted nothing but for you to be happy.

Usually I would orbit with you 

every time richard visited, the two of you would normally go out on a date or stay at your apartment and binge watch a show while cuddling. It probably occurred once a week but no more than twice a week due to his extremely busy schedule. but there would be times where all you wanted to do was your own thing. So every time you took a self care kinda day, richard would go out and hang out with the other boys or other artists. 

but gravity seems to be the only thing 

that's pulling me

as the stars align 

late at night, no matter what time it was, you'll for some reason just gravitate over to your phone and text or call richard. whether he was sleeping or not, he'd always pick up. of course the two of you would talk throughout the week, but the both of you always dedicated a day to just talk about what's happening recently and to catch up. Richard would always say how lucky he was to have you but you felt like the lucky one to finally find someone who would respect your alone time and space.
