Succumbing to his strong sense of curiosity, Link calls on Epona to ride south of Hyrule towards the Lost Woods. Though Link already achieved his goal, it was only natural to investigate what troubled him so deeply. Entering the woods gave off a type of feeling that only came off as nostalgic to Link. He needed to know what it was. Thinking about everything that has come to pass, Link just couldn't put his finger what made him linger in the woods for so long. As Link pondered in his thoughts, he was suddenly snapped back to reality when he realizes he suddenly lost his way and was looking for a way out. In the dead silence of the Lost Woods, Link heard what sounded like footsteps fallings on dry leaves of the forest floor. These sounds were barely loud enough to hear but at the same time quiet enough to make himself seem as if it was just his imagination. Finally, Link unsheathed his weapon and demanded that whom ever may have been following him to show themselves. To his surprise, a cloaked figure stepped from behind a tree and replied in a voice of silk, "Who are you?" The figure seemed to be that of a child, he thought to himself. Link sheaths his sword and shield to ask, " Are you lost? Do you need help getting out?". The child removes their hood to reveal that she looks no more than twelve years old. " I should ask you the same...after all I've lived here as long as I can remember. " What happened next took Link's breath. She looked somehow familiar and he couldn't help but ask, " Excuse me but, have we met before?" " I was about to ask you the same thing." She replied as she approached Link.
