Surprisingly, they wanted this to work.
Beomgyu stare intensely at the questionnaire prepared for him, clicking his tongue every other minute. His body leaned on the table, his legs firmly crossed.
He groans every after two tongue clicks, scratch his head furiously before taking a deep breath as he comes back trying to understand the piece of paper in his hands.
Ju-da watches in awe at the sheer determination of the young teenager, pressing her lips every now and then as she frustratingly eyes Beomgyu and his cartoon-ish antics.
It had been a week since their tutorial sessions started, and with how progress has been so agonizingly slow it certainly killed them. But neither of them wanted to back down at this point, with how not only grades on the line yet their pride as well.
"I seriously don't get it." Beomgyu gave up. He threw his hands up in the air, the papers that were once in them are now scattered all over the table. The young teen wiped the sweat off his forehead, slouching unto the uncomfortable wooden chair.
The older female simply smiled sadly, picking the pieces of paper and neatly stacking them up. "It's not that hard Beomgyu-ah," she said. Placing down the paper towards Beomgyu, Ju-da points to a specific sentence and begins explaining in detail to what it is alluding towards.
This was received by Beomgyu's whining groan, his face scrunching in frustration.
"That's the thing! I get it! I really do!" he begins to argue. "But putting these-" he takes two pages "-together? my brain malfunctions and suddenly it's in another language" Beomgyu whines.
Ju-da sighs and nods, taking the two pages from his hand.
"These aren't connected to the topic Beomgyu" she responds.
She straightens the papers neatly, sliding them towards Beomgyu's side of the table. Ju-da motions her hand to the paper in the left side, then to the right.
"This is Adam Smith on The Wealth of the Nations, and the other is David Ricardo on Comparative Advantage Theory," She explained.
Beomgyu gaped.
"Wait who's who now? I didn't know Ricardo was a economist- I thought he was a meme" he let out in exhasperation.
Ju-da pursed her lips and grit her teeth, taking every single fiber in her to not hit the black-haired junior in front of her. She closed her eyes shut and tightened her fists.
"We've been doing this for days," Ju-da whispered.
Beomgyu nodded back, sharing the same sentiment.
Seven days without progress is enough to tire a person into surrendering; The dimly lit room contributed to their tired state as well.
The younger boy sighed in defeat, slamming his palms on the table. "I give up" he mocks to himself. Ju-da looked at the young man with sadness. She began to pack the things in her bag as she too was loosing it as well.
