It was Minerva Mc Gonagall and Professor Sprout. They were sitting on the couch. In my drawing room. Has the world gone crazy? Mc Gonagall was wearing a red dress and Sprout was in blue robes. I gaped at them and sat down.
"Mr. Malfoy, as you are gaping at me I will assume you do not know why I am here. I am here because you have been appointed Head boy. You will meet me in the Heads Carriage and you will be in your robes. You and the Head Girl are going to patrol the compartments from time to time. And, when it is time, you need to tell the first years to change into their school robes. Then, you will take all the students to the entrance hall and wait for me there. Then, after the feast, you will stay back for me to assign your living quarters and duties." she said all of this very fast.
"But...How?" I finally managed to croak. This set Mc Gonagall off again.
"As I am sure you know the War has left many scars on everyone. Literally. We have made you Head Boy because it was one of the things in Dumbledore's will. He said that he truly believed that you have potential and if you can reach it you can be one of the most successful people in the wizarding world. In fact, he said that you should be one of his most pricest students and he really liked you, even if he never displayed it", she said, beaming with pride. I allowed myself a half-smile. Well, it was good news.
"I must be off. Here is your letter.", they said and vanished behind the door.
