Princess Lian POV
„Your Majesty. It is the biggest honor finally meeting you." a friend of my father said while bowing to me.
The fifth royal family arrived today and was staying at the palace for a big masked ball. Mother and father arranged this dance for me, how could I possibly say no?
It's not that I have another choice... or something other to do.
I already met a few princes and they were really polite and had good manners. Many of them were really tall and handsome. If Kaito wouldn't stand behind me like an emotionless big rock, maybe I could have had a longer conversation with each of them. He was staring them down and didn't let anyone touch his majesty's hand more than just a few seconds.
„The pleasure is all mine, King Nicolas. You must be tired from your long trip." I answered politely and smiled at him.
„The maid will show you to your room. After that my parents are awaiting you and your wife in the lotus garden. I will join you for a cup of tea after I am back from my archery class."
King Nicolas' wife gave me a bright smile. „What a lovely princess you are. Well then, we don't want the king and the queen to wait any longer."
I nodded and stepped aside while bowing, the maids led them the way to their rooms.„They are gone. But I do enjoy every second you are bowing to me. Doesn't happen this often." Kaito whispered into my ear. I laughed and hit his arm with my golden fan.
„Ouch, princess! You are supposed to flirt with this pretty fan, not hitting someone." he replied while giggling.I avoided his eyes and hid my blushing face behind it when Kaito pushed it slightly to the side.
„Princess? Where is the princess? I can't see her anymore!" he joked around and pretended not to see me.
„You are a big joker today, aren't you Kaito? But enough with those games now, I really got to go to my archery class." I mentioned and left him standing there with his mouth open.„I am coming with you, Your Majesty." he demanded while hurrying back to my side.
„Kai. I can go there by myself. How many times do I have to show you that I can protect myself?"Kaito was dazzled before he grabbed his stomach and began to laugh loudly. „Princess! My apologies but... haha! I don't think I can agree."
I turned around and looked at him, my hand raised and softly stroke his cheek.Kaito immediately stopped laughing and stood straight, looking me in the eyes.
I enjoyed every moment of him getting nervous whenever I tried to touch him. Even a slight bit.Once I was in the lotus garden of my mother and nearly slipped on a wet rock, when Kaito came and grabbed me by my waist to prevent any harm.
That day his face turned red so fast before I could even stood straight again.„Kaito! Are you getting on Princess Lian's nerves again? I told you not to mess around, son." a familiar man, tall like a tree, came towards the two of us.
I was giggling and nodded. "Yes, please teach him a lesson for being annoying and clingy, Minho." I joked around and showed Kai my tongue.
"Hey, not fair princess! If I was that annoying, you wouldn't have given me your necklace that day."
"What? Which necklace, Kaito?" his father asked him while raising an eyebrow.
„Is there something you want or need to tell me?"Kai and I were just looking at each other, both thinking of the same thing.
