Starting Clash of Clans can be very difficult and frustrating. But let me tell you it is worth it. As a beginner it will take you through a tutorial and the app will give you 500 gems to start with but you have to spend a lot during the tutorial. You can buy gems and "supersell" the makers of Clash of Clans have a VERY good deal. Anyways , I recommend maxing out your buildings before upgrading your town hall to the next level. How do you know if a building is maxed out? When you click the hammer (upgrade button) it will say: "Note: your town hall needs to be upgraded to level". After level it will say either 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, or 10. It will say this on the bottom of the white screen. It sticks out because around it is red.
