This is not the authors note. But more of Layta's revelation to the world that we can't go the way she goes. That anyone in her age goes.
My name is Layta, and I am 15 years old, almost 16. I was born on July 13, 2100. But that doesn't matter.
What does matter, is that I live in a terrible world. The president (or more like the king) has been in office for twenty years. He is a greedy ruler, who doesn't care about anyone but himself.
About ten years before he was elected, we had finally paid off the debt that was on our country. Once he came into office, he borrowed billions of dollars from different countries.
He changed tons of laws. Labor laws, child abuse, and lots of others. He has picked allot of fights with other countries. And now it's time for us to clean up his mess.
Science has improved greatly over the past years. The scientists are working their butts off; trying to find a way to end the war. One of their best accomplishments is the Dire wolf, giant cheetah, cave lion, and the Smilodon.
I won't get into the details, but tons of large animals have been revived. Somehow, scientists were able to bring back animals that died thousands of years ago, like the Mammoth, and the Thylacine. Now lots of extinct animals live among us.
The main reason the big cats and the Dire wolf were brought back were to fight. They were pretty average at first; a little bigger than their modern counterparts, with pretty markings. But over the years, science has made them get bigger and stronger. For example, the Dire wolf used to be about as big as the average wolf. Now, it's the size of an adult male lion. The cave lion is the size of a horse.
After we found out that they liked human prey, the president issued a kill order on them. They had been bred so much that it would be impossible to find them all. Several were slaughtered, but a few went into hiding.
Now, I see more friendly animals like mammoths around occasionally. But I see the Dire wolf, and the big cats often.
My friend thinks that the Dire wolves are awesome, but I think of them as another accident. A dangerous accident, that can't be truly contained.
