Chapter 8 The Past Comes To Light (editing)

Y/N's pov

"This is annoying." I sighed looking over the railing next to Shirou, people surrounded the building holding some of the silver church members "The noise it driving me crazy, three days of this shit. Oh hey Michiru!" I waved as she flew down next to us "Where were you?"

  "Talking to Nazuna." She muttered I stayed silent watching her "What did I do something wrong?"

Shirou let out a sigh "No. They are interrogating the bird beastmen we arrested. Would you like to come?"

  "Huh?"

  "We thought you might want to know who hired him." I crossed my arms "So you in?"

"Is that why you two came to get me?" Shirou nodded his head "seriously?"

"Forget it."

  Michiru yelled at the two of us to wait as she ran behind us. Kuro sat on my shoulder as we walked towards the police station. held onto Shirou's hand as we entered the station. Michiru gasped, I turned to see the man from the church walking out.

"Isn't that-"

"The leader of the silver wolf church. Yes. Wonder what he was here for?" I spoke watching the beastmen walk away.

After being checked in the three of us headed to the interrogation area where Yuji was waiting. He smiled at all of us and said how happy he was to see Michiru with us. 

  "Yaba!" One of the guards yelled swinging the door open "he just escaped his cell!"

  Shirou pulled me against his chest as the wall was destroyed, pieces of it flying towards us. I coughed at the dust from the wreckage before pulling away from Shirou. He pulled me behind him as another wall was broke through, I stared at the rhino in shock.

  After transforming I followed Shirou as he chased Yaba. I growled as the two punched each other's fist, Shirou being pushed towards the ground. I ran over and dodged Yaba's other hand before helping Shirou push this one up.

  We knocked Yaba off balance before we both did a jump attack, slamming his head to the ground.

I moved out of the away as he got up swinging, Shirou caught both his fists barely holding him back. I felt my arms get grabbed and looked up to see Michiru flying us in the air.

"What the hell are you doing?" I spat gritting my teeth  "Get out of here! It's dangerous!"

"Can't you both just trust me!" I noticed the determination in her eyes "Let me help!"

"Fine!"

  She placed me down on top of Yaba as I punched him, one of his arms left Shirou alone to attack me. Jumping out of the way it cause him to hit his own head. Shirou lifted the rhino up before throwing him to the ground, roars filled the air. I clung onto Yaba as Michiru tired to lift him.

   
"Head to the pier!" I growled kicking Yaba against the roof of a building to stop his struggling

"Good idea!" She called down to us before the struggling started again

  "Just drop us!" Shirou told her "We'll be fine!"
I jumped off Yaba grabbing Shirou's hand as the three of us fell. The rhino crashed into the building as we both landed on our feet before grabbing the chain that had wrapped around Yaba. His roars stopped as he fell to the ground. I sighed in relief before the ground started to move from behind us. Shirou pushed me out of the way before he was impaled from behind.
"S-shiro?" Michiru cried as I stood in shock, the amount of blood bring back horrid memories. I shock my head trying to focus "No..no!"
  "Michiru!" I yelled as Shirou was slammed to the ground "Move!"
  "B-but Shirou!" I growled wrapping my arms around her as we were swung into a nearby wall, blood spat out of my mouth "Y/N! You need to help him! He's going to die!"
  "Stay here!" I yelled before running towards Yaba, I stopped his fist before it could land another hit on Shirou "You won't make it much longer like this!"
  "This is my fight!" His blue eyes caught mine as I pushed harder "Y/N go!"
"No! I'm not leaving you!"
Yaba's fist grew stronger before I felt my body ram against the concrete floor, my arm was twisted as blood dripped from newly formed cuts. Yaba grabbed Shirou crushing him in his hand before throwing him back down, blood was covering his entire body. I lifted my arm up as the bones stared to mend back together.
"Y-Y/N?" I could hear Michiru say "H-How?"
  I was grabbed from behind before large fingers started to close around me slowly as I yelled in pain. Shirou was still too weak to help as Yaba started to squeeze my body.
  "Let her GO!"
  I was dropped from Yaba's grip as Michiru threw him with her gorilla arms. I hissed in agony as I felt my organs start to re shape under my cracked ribs  slowly, my legs numb and arms shattered, bone piercing through the skin on my left side, Michiru's voice yelled  in pain. Blood dripped down my chest as I tuned to see her body being crushed by Yaba, just as he did to me.
  "Shirou! I'm too weak to fight like this!" I cried in pain, slowly reaching for my collar "It's the only way!"
Ripping off my collar I let my scar show as I growled. My body becoming consumed in golden light as a beam of gold left me. I ran towards Yaba grabbing Michiru by my mouth as Shirou attack. Two of Yaba's arms missing from our beams. I laid Michiru down before she looked up at me.
"Golden wolf! Silver wolf!" She yelled "You two are the legends?"
"Stay back." I growled "We'll get you out of here!"
  Yaba looked at us as his body grew more horns. I ran towards Shirou before Yaba attacked, our tails turning sharp as we cut him in half. I felt my power drain out of me from exhaustion and pain as Shirou fell to the ground turning back to his beastmen form. I limped over to him petting his head as Michiru ran our way.
  "are you okay?" She cried "I'll call an ambulance."
  "No." Shirou hissed in pain, his head resting on my lap "I'm okay. We both are."
  "B-but!"
  "Mr and Mrs Ogami!" Mayor Rose's voiced bounced off the walls as she entered the building "You're all okay! Help him up."
  "Rose." I hissed as she wrapped her arm around me, my legs still weak "She knows about us."
"He's in a stable condition." Mayor Rose spoke once we were all bandaged up in the the co-ops "His body is already healing. How are you Y/N?"
  "My ribs are healing at a slow pace." I sighed looking down at Shirou "Most of my organs had been crushed when Yaba had squeezed me. They are mostly healed, my left arm is back to normal, the right still fractured in a few places, and my broken legs are mending as we speak. I'll be okay."
  "Y-you really are immortal."
"Yeah.." I smiled sadly reaching over to pet Shirou's soft hair. "I think we should tell her."
  "So what are you?" Michiru asked "Are you really the golden wolf? Is Shirou the silver? I heard you say I found out about you so please tell me."
"And what if we are?" I asked my hand never leaving Shirou's hair "What if that was true."
"The truth is I never tried to get to know you, either of you. You both were so different from me I thought it didn't matter. But I realize we are the same, none of us are normal beastmen. I just never understood how you and him hated humans so much, but I'm the same. I hated beastmen but it's because I never got to know them. I want to learn more about the two of you."
  "Shirou and Y/N are indeed the silver and golden wolves." Mayor Rose finally spoke "For around a thousand years now."
  "A thousand!" Michiru turned to me "When you said you've been married for a while you meant-"
  "A thousand years." I giggled sadly "Give or take."
"B-but how do you look so young?" She yelled in concern "you don't look much older then me."
"That's because we stopped aging." I sighed looking down at Shirou, I could feel my right arm had completely healed "After we became the silver and golden wolves."
  "What do you mean became?"
  "They weren't always the silver and golden wolves." Mayor said looking down at Michiru "It's a long and complicated story. A thousand years ago in the Far East of Europe there was a city called Nirvasyl."
  "It was just like Anima." I smiled sadly "A place only for beastmen. We used to live there, both of us as normal wolf beastmen."
  "Back then beastmen and humans used to trade with each other." The mayor continued "They not only coincided with each other they were friends."
"But we were attacked one day without any warning." I sighed looking down at my wedding band "They killed our entire clan, then they killed us.."
"B-but how?" Michiru asked "How were you brought back?"
"That's coming up. The humans stabbed us both before slitting our throats. Then like they did with everyone else, our corpse was left to rot." I reached up to brush the scar across my neck "I'm not sure how it happened but the blood from all two thousand of our fallen friends and clan members caused us to become the silver and golden wolves. I died holding his hand, so I sometimes wonder if that's why I'm alive today. After coming back to life we tired to track down the general who killed our clan." I growled "Many humans were killed by our hands because of that.. But we never found him.. We decided instead of revenge we would protect the beastmen. We watched over them and brought them to new lands.."
"I met them in Europe, it was the first end of the Second World War." Mayor Rose spoke "Some countries were trying to analyze the powers of beastmen, turn them into bioweapons. In those countries Beastmen were captured, thrown into prison, and used for experiments." 
  "We saved everyone once arriving there.." My eyes shifted to the floor as I let out sad sigh "But after everything we saw, all the hurt and experimented beastmen, we killed every human there. We never used those powers again, til today.."
"Y/N?" I turned towards Michiru as she called me "Was Shirou the one you made that promise to?"
  "Yes.." I nodded "He was worried how humans would react,  both him and I were terrified if we did one of us would snap again. I didn't transform back at the party because I still hate humans after what they've done to us. If they had acted coldly towards us I would of snapped hurting them to protect you."
  "I understand." She said with a small smile "I'm glad you got to keep your promise."
"You can not tell anyone about this alright?" Michiru shook her head "What?"
"No because if I do that, I'll keep treating you the way I always do. To me you are both still Shirou and Y/N Ogami, two unfriendly beastmen who work hard to protect Anima City."
"I thought I at least moved past the unfriendly part." I chuckled drily, my hand sliding into Shirou's "That's fine by me."
"In fact that's what you should do." The Mayor nodded at her as Kuro flew to her shoulder "After leaving prison I decided to became a Scientist. I thought it would be smart for beastmen to learn more about themselves. This little guy was in the lab as well."
"Yup!" I smiled as Kuro flew into my arms, I hugged my bird friend lightly"He was a crow genetically modified, it's why he's been alive so long. Isn't that right buddy?"
  "He was saved" The mayor smiled at Kuro as he flew around the room. "Like me."
  "I won't tell anyone." Michiru spoke in determination "I won't tell anyone that Shirou and Y/N are the Silver and Golden wolves. But I do think someone needs to know that the silver wolf exists. That's all I ask.."
"I wonder what he'd say to that."
"I don't mind.."
"Hey handsome." I sighed in relief as Shirou shifted to sit up "I'd say to keep resting but that's never been you're strong suit."
  He sent me a small smirk as I moved to sit next to him, my body healed mostly now. I leaned lightly against his shoulder as Michiru smiled at us before Shirou spoke
  "Go on then."
  "I'm still relived I don't have a crazy church devoted to me." I chuckled drily "I'm fine if you must tell her about me as well."
  "Are you two sure?"
  "Even if I said no." Shirou sighed at the mayors question "She still would of done it."
"I'll be going too." She spoke as Michiru left "It will allow you two a moment as well."
  "I know we are immortal." I sighed looking up at him "But you had me worried pretty bad. I'd never thought we'd have to transform back to them again for a fight.."
  Shirou simply nodded before tilting his head down, his lips capturing mine. I wrapped my arms around him as he bite my bottom lip, I let him in. The feeling of his hair, body heat, lips, it drove me crazy. No matter how long it's been he still made me weak.
  "I love you.." I muttered pulling away slightly "Shirou.."
  "I do as well." He nodded kissing my forehead "I love you.."
