Maddie is seated on a couch after returning from a long journey "from Paris back to England with her family. The Raymond's are witches and wizards but most times pretend to be human only to deceive them. The Raymond's are generated from one the oldest family of witches back in the days, who were destroyed after being in a battle with the chosen one and her servants, but did not survive after they were cast with an unbroken spell which no other witch or wizard knows about and has no translation of the spell in their spell books.
They return from Paris after going to investigate on the history of the chosen one who destroyed their relatives. Their journey turns out to be of no use but at least they discover a very important but shocking news.
After this family returns to England, they investigate on the shocking news.
Maddi has a friend named Jessie who is also a witch but has always been unaware of this information until the discovery. They've been close friends for so long to an extent that she is a family friend to the Raymond's, although Maddie sometimes kind of saw some suspicious sides of Jessie but over looked it because of the way she always talked about herself and family but because of this news, Maddie's family warns her not to visit her again until its time for them to investigate on what they are searching for, but they could see in school and watch what they discourse about, still Maddie jams her on her way to school, is she going to keep quiet?.
