But all of a sudden, her eyes lessened to squints as she flung her head back and started laughing. For a really long time.

"Oh, Sweetie, you almost gave me a heart attack," my mom said as her laughter slowly died out for what seemed like an eternity.

"What do you mean? I was serious." I said slowly with a straight face.

"Oh," my mom said while her smile faded to a frown.

No sound came from any of us as we sat there awkwardly on the blood red couch.

After what seemed like a whole half hour of silence, I just had to break the tension.

"So..." I said slowly."What do you think, mom?"

My mom stopped fiddling with her chocolate brown braid and faced me, "I don't know, Lana."

"Please, mom? I can finally pay for college on my own! We won't need to worry about money anymore!"

"Yes but we're not talking about something simple. I mean, this can really change our lives"

"Of course it can! Now I can go to Princeton! We can buy the things dad won't buy for us! I'm gonna be paid for eating dinner and going on dates with Harry Styles and hanging out with One Direction!"

"Also keep in mind there's the paparazzis. They'll be following you around like stalkers, trying to make a scandal out of you. And before you know it you'll find them waiting outside our house," my mom explained in concern.

"Well, what would you rather have?Me being able to easily pay for me and your other children's education or you trying to support our college money on your past amateur modeling life that can't even pay for half of a semester?" I snapped. Whenever I wanted to sound harsh or make a point to my mom, I'd always pull out the model card. She wasn't like a Victoria's secret model but you remember those pretty swimsuit models from Target? My mom. But she quit to become a stay-at-home mother a year ago. Yet, I still knew she missed modeling like crazy.

My mom looked like she was gonna explode but her face melted to a calmer look.

"Lana,I don't want to argue right now. But I will discuss this with your dad," she said softly.

"Okay" I said standing up. "I'm sorry I snapped at you like that, mom."

My mom gave me a warm smile."It's okay, sweetie."

I walked over to the kitchen when all of a sudden,I heard quick "THUMP,THUMP,THUMP,THUMP!" from upstairs.

I saw a flash of flying brown hair going down the flight of stairs in our house. It was Avery, my 13 year old sister.

"Someone said One Direction?!" My sister shouted.

Did I forget to mention she's a so called directioner too?

"Yeah, we're discussing over this job your sister got offered to be a-"

"An actress!" I bellowed before my mom could mention One Direction.

She always talks about them.Imagine what would happen if she found out about the beard job.

"Sick! Haha sick means cool. Or that's however Harry uses it as"(see!) My sister gasped. "Speaking of Harry. I am so MAD at you!"

"What?! Why?" I asked, opening the refrigerator.

"Because you never told me they were in the shop! I had to figure it out through

twitter! How could you?!" My sister rambled on. I couldn't help but laugh as I grabbed a chocolate chip muffin out of the fridge. It's like living with Lily!
