Nya had come to my room, it was 5am. Apparently the ninja did early morning training, meaning we could leave whenever. Nya was teaching me the art of makeup. "I don't understand what the point is? I can't feel attraction or love so why should I care how I look?" I asked, as the water ninja added some red stuff to my lips. "Cause it's fun! Plus maybe you just can't feel those emotions cause you haven't met your soulmate!" She exclaimed. "Soulmate?" I asked, perhaps this mission would teach me more than I had thought. "Ya know, the person you're made for? The missing piece in your life. Mine is Jay, he just completes me" She sighed, romance practically bursting out of her. I closed my eyes, welcoming the feeling. It was fluttery and warm, like a giant hug. I wished more than anything for that feeling to belong to me, to be mine.
We had been shopping for hours, Nya had already suggested the hair salon, meaning my waist long hair was now right below my shoulders. I'd admit it did feel a lot lighter and highlighted my appearance. Guys whistled as they walked by, I rolled my eyes. I had no time or interest in them. "Let's go pick you out a new outfit! You can only wear black leggings and tank tops for so long" Nya suggested, dragging me towards a store.
By the time we left I had four bags of clothes and had a new attire on. Nya had paired a white half top with black shorts and a shoe she called "Vans" It was very clear I had lived in the more... secluded part of Ninjago. I didn't know what a "TikTok" was, nor did I understand most of the "trends" Part of that just came with being the most awkward elemental master ever.
"We're home!" Nya announced, closing the door behind us. Home that was something I hadn't had in a long time, sure I had a place to stay but it wasn't home. The others came to the hallway, some kind of ritual I assumed. "Hey you clean up nice" Kai joked, Nya sent him a glare. I was sure that was supposed to be an insult but again, just rolls off my back. "You look nice" Lloyd commented, embarrassment and suspicion made the air stale. "Let's go put this away" Nya excused us. I decided this was the perfect next step of my plan.
I needed to be close to one of the ninja, so Nya had already made herself a perfect target. I was sure I could be a good actress. "Thank you for today, it's nice to feel like someone actually likes you" I said, folding a dress and laying it in the drawer. "Of course! I'm so glad for another girl to be here!" She exclaimed, throwing a couple shirts into the drawer as well. I realized why just get close to one ninja... when I could get close to two. I needed another target, and a knock at the door revealed the perfect candidate. 'Step two complete'
