The grandfather clock rang as the sun rose and peeked into the windows. The first thing the morning heard was Emma's enthusiastic voice and her bed creaking from her movements
"wake up, everyone! Or you'll be late for breakfast!" She yelled waking everyone in the room
"Good morning, Emma" chuckled Y/n, rubbing her eyes while she sat up, ready to help her other siblings
Y/n, a girl of beauty and skills. A 10 yr old girl who hopes to be just like her older siblings: Emma, Ray and Norman. Being smart like them is just one of her few goals in her life, she wants to be someone who her younger siblings look up to just like how she looks up to the trio.
After getting dressed, they all walked to the dining room.
Y/N'S POV
I went into the kitchen to help prepare the table, seeing Ray and Norman already getting the stuff to bring into the dining room, I sent them a smile grabbing the plates off the counter and walking behind the two of them
"good morning, Ray, Norman" I smiled
"Good morning, Y/n" Norman said and headed out
"good morning." Ray said looking at me and walked out
I walked to the tables and started setting the plates down, different sounds of children laughing and running around brought joy once again into the house.
We all loved each other and cared for one another, we were all one big family. Even if our siblings are to be adopted some day, I'm sure we will all keep in touch...
Hopefully....
My thoughts were interrupted by someone tugging at my shirt
"hello, Phil" I smiled and picked him up after putting the last plate on the table
"Y/n! Y/n! How do I look today?" He asked, already knowing what he's asking it for I responded with a laugh
"You look amazing, Phil. Just like everyone else!" I giggled
he never stopped asking me that same question, he loves seeing the number on his wrist go up,it never bothered me, I thought it was adorable..
We all went to our seats, said our thanks and began eating.
~~~~~~~~~
"age 10, type 1. answer each question within 10 seconds" the female voice in my headphones spoke and we all started our test.
We all did our best in those 10 seconds, it always seemed so hard, probably not for the Emma, Norman and Ray, they always manage to get a perfect score.
a buzzer went off, signaling that time was up.
I sighed knowing that I had some mistakes.
"It's time to give the results" mama said, getting our attention
"Norman, Ray, Emma. you three got perfect scores!" Mama exclaimed, just like any other test, they always get perfect scores, they're all so smart, that's why I want to be just like them.
"followed by Y/n who got three mistakes! Good job to all of you" she congratulated all of us.
It was always like this, I'm always stuck at second place, second place in tests or even the second to the last person to be found in tag. Not that I don't like being in that place, I'm grateful for being able to reach that high of a place to be honest.
"those three are really on another level, right?"
"Norman's the genius with superior intellect"
Ray's the only one with the kind of wit that can compete with him."
"and Emma has incredible athleticism plus the learning ability to keep up with those two."
"The house has never had three kids on that level, before" Thoma mentioned
"Yeah, but Y/n is almost reaching their level! She's quick witted and can easily understand anything" I heard them talking about me, I didn't mind. I'm actually glad they see me like that.
but I'm also doing my best to catch up with the three.
"Norman!- we heard Don shout- "Face me in a game of tag!" He challenged the boy
We all turned our head to Norman's seat to see his reaction, he smiled and accepted.
~~~~~~~~~
we all went out to the woods of the house to play tag.
I was left behind when we were dismissed.
I came to the library to continue my little research about our beauty marks for I have been very fascinated by them at such a young age. In the end, I failed to find a book that caught my eye.I decided to join the kids in playing. As I made my way to the yard where we play, I found that they already started the game and Norman was about to leave.
"Aww, they started already? without me!" I moped making Ray look up from his book.
"That's what you get when you wander off to somewhere else..."
he said going back to reading his book not minding that I took a seat next to him under the tree."Oh well, I'll wait for the next round then.." I say leaning my head on the tree
"where did you go anyways?" he asked, striking up a conversation
"library." I replied crossing my legs, picking at the grass
"again? but why? I know you aren't looking for anything to study with, so why go there?" he asked.
To be fair, I probably would rather play in my free time than to study, I was looking for any book talking about the beauty mark but like any other day, I'd only find those that I already looked into."I just felt like reading, but nothing caught my eye..." I said lazily
No word was said after that, Ray went back to digging his nose in his book while I watched the butterflies dancing on the grass, waiting for the others to return.
A few minutes later, Norman had already found everyone and returned to the area with the tree me and Ray sat under.
.
.
.
Everyone sat around the tree, happily chatting amongst their own group of friends.
Everyhing was calm until Don yelled out to catch our attentions
"Norman!"
"I want a rematch! Next game, everyone will be "it" except you!" He challenged the albino boy.'now that's a game!' I grinned to myself as everyone made their own comments
The boy smiled and accepted the challenge.
