Athena's POV

"It's so beautiful..." I sigh, making my way out of the car. I'm still awestruck over the pack house, and can't help but continue to stare.

I look over to Johnathan, who's watching me, a grin on his lips, as if saying,'Yep, this is my pack. Well, it's part of my pack.' The proudness was radiating off him.

"It is, isn't it?" He asks me, taking his time to look over the building for what has to be the millionth time in his life. I guess it was nice to live somewhere and never get tired of it, never feel as if you need somewhere else newer, that will give you a different adventure.

Our pack house was beautiful, but this is extraordinary.

Thinking about it gives me a twinge of sadness, realizing that the family that I once had, I'll never get back. The family that I went through thick and thin with, I'll have to live without. But, I wonder if that's God's way of saying,'You weren't meant to do that.' But did he have to show me in such a cruel way?

A female's voice pierces the air, filled with excitement. "Johnathan!"

It's a brunette, who has to be one of the shortest adult werewolves I have ever seen. She couldn't be more than 5'0. Maybe even less than that.

"Diana.." My uncle breathes, unconcealed adoration seeping into his voice as he races towards her. She has to be his mate, my wolf, Sadie, tells me.

I see the woman hug his waist as Johnathan gently picks her off of the ground. He whispers something in her ear, something too quiet for even I to hear, and she giggles. She whispers something back and he full on laughs, then they share a passionate kiss. A kiss that has my ears turning red, and forces me to look away. It just seemed too intimate.

It lasts for a few seconds, and in those few seconds, I properly take in the flowers. They were classified by color, arranged into the colors of the pack's flag. Blue, White, and Yellow. They were arranged to form a wolf's head. The white as the fur, the blue as the eyes, and the yellow as a medal hanging on it's neck. A twinge of recognition flashed through my mind.

A throat clearing is what stopped me from figuring out where I had seen a wolf similar to the one created by the flowers.

"Diana, this is my niece, Athena. Athena, this is my mate, Diana." He introduces us cautiously, as if he expects one of us, (Probably me) to attack the other one. I smile and hold my hand out, a genuine smile on my face.

"Pleasure to meet you." This time I actually mean it.

I expected her to calmly shake my hand and say the same thing in return, but no, that didn't happen. She pulls me into her arms, rubbing her hands in circles on my back, causing me stiffen considerably, not used to strangers hugging me.

She holds onto me for a few more seconds before she finally realizes she's making me uncomfortable. "Oh, I'm sorry. That must have been awkward. I'm Diana, but you already know that. It's nice to meet you as well. I'm sorry about your pack. Oh shit," She gasps. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that. Can you forgive me?" She pleads, her eyes widening to the size of Jupiter.

I laugh nervously, nodding, watching as her eyes go back to full-on happiness mode.

"Oh, thank you! And I'm sorry, again. I can get a little over excited sometimes." As I've just witnessed. It was like watching a fairy, even nicer than it already was. Not that fairies exist, I just decided to compare her happiness to something that doesn't exist. Because no one should be that happy. And if more than one person can be that happy, I want to know how they can do it.

"Johnathan, how in the hell is she related to you? She looks nothing like you." He looks at her like she blames her for me looking like I do.

"She takes her after her father. She got one of our gorgeous looks, she got her father's gorgeous looks." Even though e said it jokingly, there's a hint of sadness in his voice and it makes me wonder, How come he never contacted my mother?

Diana snorts and grabs my harm, ushering me up the steps of the pack house. "Come on! We have to introduce you to everyone else! They can't wait to meet you. We haven't ha something this exciting happen since the Alpha became, well, the Alpha. Well, it's exciting for us. It's a tragedy and quite scary for you. Sorry, " She cringes. "Brought that up again."

I just shake it off, knowing that she didn't mean to upset me. We immediately enter a vast living room, with a grand stair case towards the back of the room. The couches, and recliners are circled around a glass table with a vase of leaves on top. Not flowers. Leaves.

The whole room was immaculate.

I have to say, it impressed me, and it made want to just roll on the floor in awe, but I refrained myself. I do have a little bit of self control believe it or not.

"See,"Johnathan starts. "It looks just as good on the inside as it does on the outside." And I had to agree with him. If I would've walked into here blindfolded, I would've though I just walked into a castle. But no, it was just a really rich pack's house.

We start walking up the staircase, and the few people that are already there greet me with smiles, a few sympathetic, a few just like Diana's. We get to two double wide doors, and my uncle knocks while Diana is bouncing on the balls of her feet.

When we here the gruff, 'Come in.', shivers run down my spine, and my heart speeds up. And for some reason, my wolf starts to get excited.

Johnathan opens the door, and when I walk through it, my eyes on the ground, trying not to laugh at Diana's behavior. "Alpha Cameron, this is my niece, Athena."

I look up, ready to introduce myself, when all of a sudden I find myself being sucked into the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen. Mate! Mate! My wolf shouts at me.

I start to wonder why I didn't smell his scent, and instead why I smell a horrible perfume like substance, and that's when I notice the blonde sitting on his lap.
