My Gift #01-TN

Today is friday. I was wandering around about what will I do for Ter. Maybe...I'll do an early surprise for his birthday.

"Right! Then..." i was about to go out when I heard a loud singing 'Happy Birthday' nearby.

Staffs were walking towards where it was and I saw a back of a familiar guy. It was...

"My pet!" Ter exclaimed in shocked.

While Gun was heading towards Ter, holding a marbled blue cake with a greeting on it.

'That should be me...'

I said in my head. I just lost it. Maybe its better to be like this, just an on-screen couple.

'But no...'

'Yes...'

'No...'

'Yes!'

'I don't know!'

What am I doing?! Battling with myself if I'll give up or not.

After an hour...

I'm just sitting around the corner when I notice someone is infront of me.

"Go-away." i said.

"Why would I?" I instantly looked who's who.

"Ter..." i uttered.

"I saw you earlier Hin, why'd you walked away?" he asked.

'Because I must be the one who did that earlier.'

I answered his question in my head.

"Uhh...nothing." i just answered and looked away.

"Sulking again."he laughs

"But... I... I was going to surprise you earlier, yet Gun went first." I whined at him but he just laughs. " stop laughing! I'm serious!"  i shouted at him.

"The bickering couple is back!" I heard P'Off said while Gun is sitting on his lap--- uhh... hugging him.

It was the day of Ter's 29th birthday. He were celebrating it a hotel hall. I was driving my car with a cake and a card that I wrote for him.

I was so happy that I wanted to give him the thing he wanted me to give to him.

It's been 7 years of having you as my best friend maybe its time to-- I stopped my thoughts when I was almost hit by a ten-wheeler truck who is very unstable in the road.

"I almost died." i exclaimed and continue to drive until I reached the hotel. I held the cake as  I smiled widely with the card on my pocket.

I was walking nearly on the hotel hall's door, when it suddenly opened and I saw Ter running towards me.

"Why did you---" i didn't finished my sentence because he walked through me.

I was shocked and saw the people inside the hall went out. I was looking to everyone who is walking pass through me. I am confused.

"What's happening?" I asked myself.

A tear scaped in my eyes. I'm still confuse on what happened. I slowly closed my eyes and all what happened flash on my head, on how I got hit by the truck and how I was inside the car.

It can't be. I ran and ran until I got tired and sat down and closed my eyes after a minute I can hear the sound of serine of the ambulance. I am now in the hospital. I saw myself being headed to the ER.

Is that really me?

Why today?

Why it has to be my love's big day?

As minutes past by, I saw Ter running towards the ER. He looked at P'Off who is sitting blankly.

"What happened?!" he shouted at P'Off. But didn't utter to answer. "Peng tell me what happened!" he pleaded onto P'Off's shoulder until I saw a tear escaped to his eyes.

I want to hug him. I want to tell him that I am here beside him. But I CAN'T. I don't know how.

Then Gun showed. "P'Tay..." he called teary-eyed. "The police said, New got bump by a ten-wheeler truck..." he said sadly. " his car rolled until it hit a tree where his car was found." his voice starts to shiver. " Then ten meters away they saw New's body filled with---" he stopped in the middle of story-telling. He was crying.

P'Off came towards Gun to hug him. Ter and Gun was crying while P'Off was still comforting Gun. Then after a while Gun stopped crying and pulled a card on his pocket, it has blo-- my blood in it.

"That was the last thing New was holding, and I think it was meant for you."

Ter was about to open it when the doctor came out of the ER. They imidiately stand to ask the doctor.

"I'm sorry. But he didn't make it." the doctor said and left.

While for Ter he ran towards the exit while crying. P'Off was about to go after him but Gun stopped him.

"Let him." Gun said, still crying.

So I went after Ter. I saw him in a bench sitting and looking at the letter Gun gave earlier.

He opened it and read...

'Happy Birthday Ter!

I am very happy to be part of your 29th birthday this year. I wish you all the best for what you have today, tomorrow, and in the future ahead to us. Yes! To US! I love you P'Tay! and my love is my gift for you.

"

But why leave me too soon Hin?" he asked. "Why now!” he shouted then cried. He keep asking why did I leave him so soon.

"I didn't leave you Ter... I'm here!" i shouted back even though I know he can't hear me.

"I'm here..." i softly said while crying. I sat beside him ang hugged him wishing he can feel my presence.

"I love you Hin..." i heard him say.

"I love you too Ter." I answered.

Then slowly, I began to fade away with the air.
