Alice's POV
I've been in this asylum for years now ever since I had been put in here by my father. All because I had told him about a magical land I would travel to when I went to sleep and it felt so real. I told him it was real, that I had created a world of my own where nothing was the way it should be and everything was the way it shouldn't. He got quite worried and put me in this asylum.
At first it was scary and weird and I hated it, now I've learned to accept the fact that they will never agree that I can go home. I haven't been home since I was eight. I'm now 16 and according to the specialist I may not go home for a few more years.
No one understands me at all, I haven't been out in years I've forgotten what England even looks like. Even my father, he rarely visits, he is too busy with work and his life. I feel as if he has forgotten about me completely. He was the one who put me in this bloody hell of a place while he went and lived his life.
I'm not an only child I have two older brothers, one older sister, and six younger siblings. I don't understand why me of all children had to be put in an asylum. According to father I was a bit troublesome when I was younger telling him of stories of me talking with the flowers in our garden.
Anyways, enough of my boring back story of how I got into this asylum. I do not want pity upon me, for all I want is to be free. So as I would lay in the bed I was given eight years ago each night thinking on how to get better or pretend to, I would look up through the hole in the building that was far to high for me to reach to escape. I would always think what it would be like to fly up there and slip out and be free.
One foggy winter night in London I had been told it was lights out and I lay in my bed shivering slightly, looking through the hole lettinh my mind wonder. I saw a tiny little glow of yellow light come into the hole and it just stayed there like it was waiting for something or someone. Then I saw a shadow come in and the glow followed it down to my bed.
"Alice come on get up hurry I'm here to save you." The shadow whispered softly to me.
I coughed to try to find my voice to see if it still works, "Who exactly are you Mr. Shadow?"
I saw him smile, at least it had the figure of a boy. "Quick grab my hand if you want to be free Alice."
I looked at the boy/shadow in confusion, after moments of thinking I grabbed his hand. The glowing thing then started to fly around me and I floated up still holding the figures hand. He fly up with me and out the hole we went.
Fresh cool air had hit me for the fog had rolled away, I breathed in deep to smell food, fish, different perfumes and so many fragrances. I had smiled for the first time in eight years, I let my lips go up to form a smile. I looked over at the figure who saved me from the bloody hell I was trapped in.
He had brown hair that came to his ears and sparkling blue eyes like the ocean that you could get lost in. He wore a green tunic wuth green tights and a red belt wrapped around his waist. He had an adorable green hat with a feather in it and had little green elf like shoes. He looked over and smiled at me as we circled around Big Ben.
