EVE

(Today on September 21, 2016 in Brooklyn, New York City)

I wake up slightly shaking and heaving heavily with my eyes wide open. Trying to calm down my body to the point where I can breathe steadily again, I remember where I'm at.

Okay, I'm still inside the apartment and still sitting on the kitchen counter! Whew! What a fucking relief!

My head feels like fireworks have been exploding around my brain, giving me one hell of a headache. Yawning, I can feel the soreness of my back, along with my tight leg muscles, all the way down to my toes. They sprung back to life, while I stretched myself out.

Shit! It was another bad dream. What the hell happened before I passed out? Rubbing my head, my memory suddenly gives me tiny glimpses of the morning sky, feet in sports shoes running on a sidewalk, the sea, stumbling outside and onto a white door and me heading desperately to the window...

...Ahhhhh, now I remember...

The ringing of my alarm clock starts to sound off and my head automatically bops up.

Sighing as I'm rubbing my eyes, I turn my head to the right side of my bed where my nightstand is and I see the glowing numbers on the clock: 5:00 AM.

Due to a certain someone, getting a day off of work today, which surprised me, because ever since I started working at my first legal job since the summer started, I've heard from other co-workers of mine, that have requested days off before have never gotten the 'OK' from the higher-ups.

I've always assumed that it was because of their strict policy, which I haven't even finished reading yet, due to its lengthiness. I attempted to finish it, but it put me straight to sleep!

Maybe someone with a higher title, had seen how hard I've been working and had decided to gift me with this break?

It felt good to be at home after a long week of work, but I was already thinking about my to do list for tomorrow. Before going to bed I set the alarm on my clock for 5:00 AM.

I know it doesn't sound like every teenage girls usual plan, to wake up before 12:00pm however it feels lax, zen, and too damn good to pass up.

Getting out of bed, pretty much excited to not even think about the 'W'-word. I, started out with an early outdoor morning run around 5:05 AM, where it was still dark outside with the dawn barely peaking out.
