If you have not read it yet, It's obviously Michael, duh, and Chris Tucker as nobody but himself.
How did I come to the idea to make these two a duo? Because in real life they were great friends, and already had so much chemistry. Michael and Chris, the introvert and the extrovert. The shy one and the very outgoing one. The sensitive gentle soul and the funny, agressive gangster.
They were total opposites, hence why it worked so well, with some unspoken understanding and trust in the other. Always there for one another.
So now, since Michael obviously was older than Chris, I chose to adjust them to the same age group. Around 20-21/22.

He don't smoke tho💀 And he don't sell weed 😂😭. He's a bad on the surface, and an intelligent nerd if he wants to be. Hard on the outside, but soft on the inside.
Michael seems soft, because of his gentle and friendly nature, but he can be a real threat when you push his buttons, even if the angel on his shoulder has more say then the devil on the other side.

And Chris. They had no cap :(
So in the book, they have a long history of knowing the other. Since kindergarten, Chris also lived back in Gary Indiana. So as the Jackson 5 took off, he was left behind and moved to St.Barbara Town, the fictional town in the story.
So years later when Michael decides to want to be normal ad every body else, he moves in with his childhood best friend. Yeah.
Chris knows the town by heart and everything, has had all the experiences Michael hadn't and will be right there with him witnessing all his 1st times 👀
It was also important to me to finally write a story, more so a high school/ university story where BLACK PEOPLE are the main characters. There ain't many. And that's nasty.
