This was Eleanor's final moments in the good place. As she sat there on the bench, nervous for what was to await her as she crossed the threshold of the last door, Janet was telling some joke but she couldn't concentrate. She was ready, or at least, she thought she was. Ever since Chidi had gone through, she had never felt more alone. Eleanor looked at her surroundings, taking in the smell of the pine needles and the near by rivers, as she was preparing to say goodbye to this forever. This was it.

"Hey, Janet." Eleanor said hesitantly. She didn't know if she wanted the answer, but if she never asked then she may have never been able to face it. "What do you reckon happens to us when we walk through?"
"I don't know. It's the only thing I don't know and it's kinda annoying me." Janet replied. "All I know is that you cease to exist and that you are at a complete peace. I hope that's true for Jason's sake."
"I'm sure he's fine. If there's any chance at all of us existing after we walk through, he's probably waiting somewhere for you, eating his jalapeno poppers". Janet made a sound which resembled a laugh, which lead to Eleanor giggle so much she couldn't breath. It was a good last moment, probably as best as she could've gotten with the cards that have been dealt.  When Eleanor could contain herself, she took one last deep breath the revel in the smell of the outdoors, and then she opened her mouth and said, "Okay, I'm ready."
Janet waited on the bench, this was the last of her friends to leave the good place, and she wanted to savour every last moment, for as soon as Eleanor was gone, she would truly be alone, forever.

Eleanor made steps towards the door, and when she was only a couple of feet away, she turned to look at Janet for one last time. Janet noticed the tears in Eleanor's eyes and wished she could make them disappear, but she knew that this was a sad moment, and that Eleanor needed to cry. "Don't worry, I'm here with you and Chidi is waiting for you on the other side."
Eleanor nodded at Janet, then without wasting another second she walked through the door.

Her whole body tingled and she felt so calm, but then something wrapped around her. She started to panic, she began to kick and punch at the air while a scream escaped her lungs. This wasn't the air she realised. She opened her eyes and saw Chidi's looking directly at her.
