The forests were quiet, a heavy fog rolling in from the south, the full moon shining on the dew-covered pine trees and grass. In a soft grass field, sat a small shed in disrepair the door barely holding onto its hinges, windows shattered and covered with tarps from the inside, the sloped roof missing multiple shingles that littered the ground. The quiet snap of branches followed from the forest as Oliver Woods a small male comes up to the shack with a sigh, setting down a bucket of water he had retrieved from the stream and starting a fire in a small pit. Oliver Woods had lived in his little forest shack since he was sixteen about three years or so, he'd honestly forgotten how weird it was he lived in the woods. However the noises of the forests always had a way of throwing him off, wright on que a loud screech like cry echoed from the trees. His mother had told him to go in the forest that night three years ago and get firewood but he could never find is way back out, he had given up and was fine with his life now living in his secluded shed.
Oliver shivered despite the fire blazing in front of him. He slowly lied in the soft grass looking up at the soft stars from his clearing. His eyes were getting heavy with sleep when suddenly a new noise screamed from the woods, it sounded like the heavy hum of an electric current but blaring from the trees. Oliver sat up quickly surprised with the new noise, it was more often to just be screeches or inaudible gurgling but this was a new noise, it happened again but louder. Oliver quickly got up, throwing his backpack back over his shoulder before following the noise, every fifteen minutes like clockwork becoming louder as Oliver went deeper in the woods.
Now unable to see his own feet putting to much trust on the forest floor. He came to the top of a hill seeing a glowing dark violet pond at the bottom. Curiously he went to lean closer to see it better. Of course, that was a mistake as his foot slipped on the dew soaked moss. Instinctively dropping to the floor sliding down the hill and stopping just barely before the pond. The violent humming slowly soothing into an almost peaceful echo as Oliver looked into the pond curiously. This was of course not one of the weirdest things he's found, their was that time he saw a wyvern fly overhead, of course he never saw where it went, their was those humanoid shadow things even if they feared the fire they still scared him.
Oliver leans close to the violet waters, the water having no reflection of the male peeking into it. He carefully threw a pebble into it the pebble instantly disappearing as it hit the water, a soft laugh escaping from Oliver as he curiously leans close. The soft soil and sand underneath him sliding down with his weight, his hand hitting the water it felt as if he had just pressed his hand into maple syrup despite the pebble falling in it so easily. Oliver quickly tried to yank his hand away but the 'water' just pulled him deeper. He fell into the water and started panicking trying to get out desperately but he couldn't even move anymore.
He was still sinking into the water it reached his neck Oliver starting to hyperventilate "h-help!" he called despite knowing no one could hear him. He tried to scream as the thick 'water' filled his throat it instead coming out with a painful gurgle. Everything slowly turned Violet and then faded to black as Oliver slowly blacked out.
As the fog around Oliver's mind slowly faded out the sound of quiet waves sloshing at rocks. Oliver choked up the violet water his eyes slowly opening, light, light was everywhere it had been so long since he'd felt the sun on his skin. He just lied there for a moment looking up at the sky before the excitement quickly evaporated a cold wave hitting him suddenly. "Fuck! That's cold!" he shouts to no one realistically as he scoops up his bag and scrambles out of the way of the waves. He looks up and down the beach slowly it wasn't sandy but instead have small smooth rocks they varried in size some only the size of an apple some the size of a tire. It looked like Oliver had somehow washed up on a beach. He looked around shuffling off the beach and into the grass taking a seat to scout out the land.
He could see what could be called a forest that is if all the trees could be four-hundred feet tall, Oliver made note to explore the forest soon. The field he sat in was filled with grass that reached his knee if he stood and could easily cover him if he lied down, the grass felt as if it was slk very gently brushing along Olivers cheek. From what he could see the flowers weren't much different they looked like Daisy's but were tall and in a rainbow of colors even the flowers peeked over the grass some even as tall as Oliver. Oliver looks around softly clicking his tongue before something repeats his click.
Oliver in surprise stood up and looked around clicking again another click copying yet closer Oliver opened his bag quickly looking around tossing a couple notebooks that got soaked, carefully bringing some mushrooms he had picked at his forest and sitting in the grass. If it was an animal he could maybe get another look into where he is. He made a soft click hearing it barely a foot away now. He went to do it again before an arrow came whizzing past nearly hitting his leg. But from where the clicking was echoing rose a large lion like figure with twice as many teeth and twice their size. The thing quickly retreats bak to the forest "Hey are you still alive!" A female voice calls towards Oliver.
Oliver quickly stands "y-yeah!" He slowly starts getting his things together. A young woman with long red hair steps up poking Oliver with her bow "hey, who are you, your not from around here obviously." Oliver rubs the back of his neck and points towards the water "honestly I don't know I sorta just washed up here." the woman was slightly taller then Oliver and had a slightly tan skin from the sun the freckles very clear against her skin. She nods in thought "alright, Well I'm Emily c'mon your lucky I found you when I did or you'd be food for that moora. You can come to my camp a few people and I were going on a hunting trip but I guess a friend will work to." She laughs as she leads Oliver carefully back to a camp.
Oliver slowly comes up to the camp there were four large tents a large fire pit in the center. Emily led Oliver over by the campfire and sat him down "dry off and I'll go find my brother, He might.... Hm well your actually rather small I don't know if we have anything that would fit you." Oliver shrugs "Oh don't worry I'll dry off eventually." Emily nods still leaving Oliver alone to settle himself by the fire. Oliver slowly opened his backpack and looked threw most of his things survived other then some papers with sketches. He sighs leaning back against the butt of his palms, slowly relaxing into the dirt. "Hey kid! I don't think I ever got your name" Emily called peeking out of a tent stirring Oliver a bit. "mmnh? Oh it's Oliver! Hey I'm not a kid I'm just small." he muttered the last bit before slowly closing his eyes again.
As Oliver rested Emily talked to her brother who was fairly taller then her "Emily we can't just take this random guy home what if he's a spy." Merlin said sternly as he gets up getting his bow. "I'm not letting someone that can be a threat even come close to the kingdom." Emily pinched her brows blocking the exit of the tent from her brother. "no! He's so small! He wouldn't even survive the night hell he was nearly eaten by a Moora! Please just give him a week! You'll see he's innocent." she said sternly using the puppy eyes that always won any argument with her brother. Merlin tried hard to keep his foot down and stay stubborn before dejectedly sighing "fine you ass. I'll give him exactly one week. And you said small wright? How small like a dwarf?" Emily shrugs gesturing to about to her chest "He's small but not super tiny."
Merlin laughs "that small! Jeez little guy's gonna get eaten!" He said with a hardy laugh before peeking outside the tent "is that him? By the campfire? Don't you think he's gonna get cold out their?" The tall male hums slowly stepping out and picking him up. Emily smirking "Oh you worrying now?" Merlin shot her a glare and lied the male in Merlin's bed "oh hush or else I'll put him in yours." Emily shrugs and leaves the tent for her survey, leaving Merlin to sit on the floor and wait for Oliver to wake up slowly beginning to doze off but trying hard to fight it. Despite trying his hardest he had ran around a lot chasing some deer and a Moora that got close to the camp. With a defeated sigh Merlin closed his eyes and rested against the bed.
