Chapter 3
Helping
Carmen POV

I heard my brother yelling towards Daniel but I thought nothing of it until I saw Daniel fall to the ground with his eyes close.
I hated when people fall to the ground with their eyes closed. Don't ask why because even I don't know.
I don't know what came over me that made me want to go help Daniel. Maybe it was the fact that nobody was going since the bell rang or maybe it was the fact that I had a test in first period. But I just went over there.
"Carmen. Stay. Away. From. Him" Cameron said clearly still angry with Daniel for some wierd reason that even I don't know
"Cam he is hurt" I stated
"I don't care Carmen you stay away from him" Cameron said calmly as if I was a 3 year old
"Cam you always told to help people in need and clearly Daniel here needs help" I said angry at my brother for trying to tell me what to do.
"Carmen I swear to god you stay away from him or I promise that you will fucking regret it" Cam warned me
"Cam.." I tried to tell him that I was just helping him nothing more
"GOD DAMIT CARMEN YOU STAY AWAY FROM HIM OR I WILL NEVER AGAIN TREAT YOU LIKE MY SISTER" Cameron shouted.
I backed away from him with a hurt expression. He eyes softened when he saw my expression.
"Carmen...." he tried to come closer to me.
I was hurt. He has never yelled or shouted at me. I backed away
"Cam just go" I whispered softly
He left after that. I look down at the body below me. I checked if he had any bruises any where. I could see he was going to get a black eye.
But that couldn't be the reason he fainted I thought
I alway wanted to become a doctor. I look at him and saw the back of his head bleeding. I guess he hit his head. I grab my gym clothes and ter them in order to stop the bleeding.

The bleeding soon stopped and I just dragged him under a tree and waited for him to wake up while reading Paper Towns by John Green.
"Where am I?" asked a voice I never heard before
"Hmmm...you...blacked out.....I helped y-you" I tried to explain. Key word tried since I failed badly.
"You are Carmen Jones" he stated
