Part 3

"So this will be your room..." Thomas opened the door as he lead Hattie in. "We can go shopping for everything you need later, but I want you to be settled in before that." He knelt down so he was eye level with her. "Look at me." She stopped examining the room and made eye contact with him. "All of the people in this house love you already. If you need anything, let us know." She nodded. "And you remember that my room is right down the hall?" She nodded again. "Good." He stood up and sat on the bed as she walked over to the window. He watched her as she marveled at the pool outside.
"It's really nice here, but I don't know how to swim." She looked over at him as he smiled.
"That's ok. We can teach you. How about we go to the store and get you some more clothes so you're ready for the week?" Hattie nodded furiously.
"I like clothes." She giggled as they made their way to the foyer. Everyone had gone back to their normal routine, so it was empty, save for Nick and Chase who were chilling on the couch.
"Hey Chase," Thomas called. Chase looked up from his phone where he was editing a tik tok. "Hattie said that she loves clothes." Chase perked up.
"So do I!" He came over and knelt in front of her. "I should show you my closet later." She giggled again and nodded.
"And you should also ask Tony and Ondre about their clothes too." Thomas tapped her head to get her attention.
"Ok." She jumped up and down in excitement.
"Are you guys going somewhere?" Chase asked as he stood up.
"Shopping. She needs more clothes than what she came here with."
"Cool. Have fun." Chase smiled at her as he sat down again.
"Yo, Mia!" Thomas called.
"What?"
"I'm taking Hattie shopping. Do you want to come?" Mia poked her head out of the doorway of Alex and Kouvr's room.
"Shopping? Yes!" She hustled downstairs while putting her hair in a bun.
"Alright, ready?" Thomas asked when she got to the door. Hattie nodded and grabbed Mia's hand. Mia looked at Thomas and gave a slight smile. "Then we're off...", and with that they got in the car, en route to Target.
