"Happy Birthday Quinn," he smirked before leaning in and kissing my forehead.

"Thank you Adela." I watched as his brown eyes left my grey and moved somewhere over my shoulder. Instinctively, I turned slightly to see what caught Quinn's eye but before I could , Quinn grabbed my hand. "I'm glad you could make it."

I gave a small smile. "Of course. My parents wouldn't dare miss their favorite nephew's birthday celebration," I answered softly.

"Well that is very pleasing to know." Quinn placed a kiss on my hand before moving on to talk to more guest. The sea of well dressed, extremely over privileged human beings made me uncomfortable. After seventeen years of snobby surroundings , I still didn't feel like part of the crowd.

"Are you going to stand here all night darling?" My mother looked me over with a kind smile. Biting my lip , I shrugged. "Not really feeling it tonight?"

"Oh no mother I'm fine. The party's great."

She squeezed my hand gently, "You don't have to tell fibs love bug. Kevin is out front with the car still. I could always just tell your father you weren't feeling well."

"Mother you d-" She shook her head.

"Go."

I silently thanked her before making my way to the kitchen door. Leaving through the front would only cause stares. As I walked through the kitchen I immediately felt eyes on me. I ignored the feeling , soon reaching the door. "What's the rush?" A slow heavy toned voice stopped my actions. My body moved towards the voice. A dark figure stood, more like leaned, against the island counter.

"Ex-excuse me?" I squinted my eyes trying to see the mystery more in the dark room. It moved more into my view and the kitchen light was flicked on. Green eyes were the first thing I saw, deep green eyes. My eyes fell more onto his body. Broad shoulders, milky skin littered with tattoos as I could see from his open front shirt. Me not being as abundant in height made him seem to look down on me. He was long.

His voice rumbled into me once again, "Why are you leaving so soon? The event just started."

"I'm not feeling well." But why did it matter? Who was he anyways and how was it any of his concern? His brows furrowed. "What?"

"What's not feeling well?"

What an odd question. "Me?"

"I mean what part of you," his gaze on me was intoxicating. My mind couldn't think of anything but him at the moment.

"Uhm..Uh..m-my uh."

"I don't like stuttering," he stepped back taking in my full body, "but you're making me seem to maybe, adapt."

"Head," I suddenly blurted. What Adela? Snap back into it.

One of his thick eyebrows rose, "Head?"

"My uhm head. My head's upsetting me." Nice. Just nice.

"Your head's upsetting you?" His tone was teasing and somewhat playfully mocking.

Come on Adela, "Yeah, I uh , I have to go mister."

"That's unfortunate . " The strange man turned on the heel of his boot and began to walk away. "My head wouldn't upset you," was mumbled before the kitchen light flicked off and mystery man disappeared out into the crowd in the rest of the house.

I shook my head trying to clear the fuzz from what I had just experienced. Recovering, I stepped out into the chilly air and soon made my way to the black vehicle.

"Miss Dela, leaving a little early aren't we?"

"To the house please," I mumbled pushing my hair from my face.
